Hard things are part of life.

Following Jesus doesn’t remove them.

It changes how we walk through them.

The hard workout.

The hard conversation.

The hard season.

The hard decision.

The hard act of obedience.

You don’t have to be fearless to face what’s in front of you.

You just have to remember that you’re not facing it alone.

God never promised an easy life.

He promised His presence.

And sometimes, that’s exactly the strength we need to take the next step.

Somewhere along the way, we started measuring life by numbers.

Calories.

Steps.

Sleep scores.

Followers.

Income.

Productivity.

None of those things are bad.

But if we’re tracking everything except our joy, our peace, our relationships, and our time with God... maybe we’ve started measuring the wrong things.

Life was never meant to be a performance.

It was meant to be lived.

To laugh until your stomach hurts.

To slow down enough to notice a sunset.

To be fully present with the people you love.

To experience the peace that only God can give.

Take care of your health.

Work hard.

Set goals.

But don’t become so focused on optimizing your life that you forget to actually enjoy the life God has given you.
