Last week was surreal at Blue Ridge Banjo Camp. Got to see some old friends and make a lot of new ones. I heard music I dont think you could hear anywhere else on the planet. The young talent that exists is truly amazing. Players from 11 to 79 years old and from all over the world. It was beyond anything I could have imagined and I can’t wait to get back. I know it’s not an easy feat to put it all together and I’m so thankful for those who made it happen. See you next year!

Well Johnnys first day being 8 years old was a memorable one. I’m so proud of this little dude. His passion and willingness to learn is impressive to say the least. From inshore to offshore, conventional to fly, he keeps adding to his resume. I taught him a little but honestly I mostly find myself thinking “where did that come from?” Many thanks to our good friend Blaine Anderson for capturing this cool video of Johnny landing a nice on a shimmerfall jig in 150’. Can’t wait to see what you do next.

We’ve done more fishing with the kids this summer than ever before. There’s just a few things you can never say NO to. Number one is “Hey Dad, can we go fishing?” Weather it’s before work, after work or somewhere in between we’ve been getting it in. It’s been hot out there but it’s been really good. Thanks to all our friends that have helped make these wonderful experiences possible!

I first met Eric Newman here in Charleston in 2009. We were shooting a show. We had some amazing fishing here and picked up right where we left off at their place in last week. Just sorry it took 17 years to finally get back on the water again. Some great commentary from Mo here. Finally got to check wading at the off the list. Can’t wait to go back.
