Some places don’t just hold your memories—they hold every version of you. 🤍
20 snaps from July on Cape Cod.
Last year we moved south, and I wasn’t sure how we’d keep this summer tradition alive. So this year we packed our laptops, sent the kids to camp, worked remotely, and squeezed in a few weeks of New England summer.
My family’s house on the Cape is one of the most meaningful places in my life. As someone who moved a lot growing up and went away to boarding school, it’s the one place that has always felt like home. It’s where I’ve come back to year after year, where I’ve brought friends, and now where I get to make memories with my own kids.
Every time I’m there, I see little pieces of my childhood. My aunts, uncles, cousins, younger versions of my parents… it all somehow still lives there.
I also have one very important annual goal: find a day where I can swim, go for a run, get a workout in, and end the day with an outdoor shower. If I can check off all four, I consider it a successful Cape Cod summer. 😂
This year wasn’t perfect. Balancing work, camp schedules, and three kids definitely had its moments. But maybe that’s the point. Traditions evolve. They look different in different seasons of life.
I’m just grateful we found a way to keep this one.
Does your family have a place that will always feel like home, no matter where life takes you? 🤍
