In honor of the great Band, ZZ Top. Wednesday night will be the featured artist.

ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard has died at the age of 77, bringing an end to a career that helped define the unmistakable groove behind one of America's most enduring rock bands. Beard had recently stepped away from the road while dealing with serious health issues.

Beard joined ZZ Top in 1969 and remained behind the kit as the Texas trio evolved from blues rock outsiders into global stars. His playing powered classics including "La Grange," "T**h," "Gimme All Your Lovin'," "Sharp Dressed Man," and "Legs," while his partnership with bassist Dusty Hill formed the backbone of the band's sound for more than five decades.

Beard was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill in 2004. Following Hill's death in 2021, Beard and Gibbons carried ZZ Top forward with Elwood Francis, preserving a legacy that began more than half a century ago.
