The tap is: The sequential movement of the shoulders, hips, knee and trail leg fully extended pointed down the cord of the pole or at the pole tip.

Ever heard a coach say “Straight Pole” and weren’t quite sure what they meant?
A straight pole is a vault where the pole doesn’t bend, often used for drills or beginner training.
It’s a great way to develop proper takeoff mechanics and body position
before relying on the pole’s bend.
