Wanted to share an update on our girl Grace, as she is four weeks postop. She had a cancerous tumor removed from her eye socket, and unfortunately, after speaking with the vets at CSU, they are certain that even though they removed everything that they could that the tiniest microscopic cells were left behind, and the tumor has already begun to regrow.
They told us what to look for and reassured us that she is not currently in any pain or discomfort, which has been obvious on our end. So for now, we will focus on letting her just be a horse, enjoying the pasture life with her herd, and seeing where the future leads us.
Thank you to everyone who has donated and support of our rescue, if you are able to make any additional gifts toward Grace and her ongoing care, we would be forever grateful for the support! You can find the links in our bio and we are also on PayPal and Venmo as .

‼️ MAJOR PSA ‼️
When is the last time you checked the bolts on the hitch‘s on your trucks? Whether you are hauling live animals, just hay or other random supplies, it can be a terrifying situation if your hitch fails you. We always talk about the importance of trailer maintenance, but we want to ensure that nobody is skipping the maintenance on their truck as well.
We have a great experience team if you have questions, need advice or resources on how to do your own maintenance! Accidents happen, but let’s do whatever we can to prevent them as best we can.

Little Cassidy isn’t staying so little! Check out that butt!

It’s Cassidy’s turn for a vet visit with the CSU podiatry experts. We’ve had our farrier and bodywork care team hard at work trying to diagnose the issues but after radiographs from our local vet she wanted to get CSU involved too.
For now we are trying a wedge shoe on the club foot on her right front to help the shortened ligaments, and a laterally-set shoe on the left front to help prevent her knee from bowing out even more.
Cassidy is such an interesting case at just 9 months old. Only time will tell where things go for her but as always, we are here for it!

Surgery was a success! We don’t have any updated photos yet but word from CSU is that our girl was up and moving comfortably. Jolene will get to come home later today 🎶🎶
Thank you for all the well wishes and donations, we’ve got about $250 in toward our $3000 estimate. Share away CAWS fam!! 💕🐴

I hate being weighed at the doctor’s office too, Jolene 😂

Rhiannon and Jolene are all checked in at CSU for baby girl’s surgery later this morning. Estimating $2800-$3800 to give this girl the life she deserves. Send good vibes! ☀️
