Don't forget: Wyoming preference points open July 1.
๓
Preference points can help improve your odds of drawing licenses in harder-to-draw areas, making them an important tool for many hunters planning future hunts.
๓
Need a refresher on how the system works? Check out our article breaking down Wyoming preference points and what hunters should know before purchasing. Find the article and more info on preference points at the link in our bio.

Can't beat those Wyoming views.

Did you know WYOGA donated funds to the WYDOT Trapperโs Pointe Project?
This project involved installation of cameras at the Trapperโs Point underpass/overpass project in Pinedale.
๓
The mission supports a system of underpasses, overpasses, and fencing for safe migration, helping safeguard deer and antelope on their journey to winter ranges.

The State of Wyoming has been made aware of the New World screwworm (NWS) affecting Texas and New Mexico at this time.
No cases have been reported in Wyoming.
NWS is a serious pest that affects livestock, pets, wildlife, and, less commonly, people and birds. Adult screwworm flies are about the size of a common housefly or slightly larger. Their larvae feed on the living tissue of warm-blooded animals.
Please visit https://Screwworm.gov for further information.
Given that it can infest wildlife, G&F is asking outfitters to be even more vigilant about inspecting their livestock before heading into the back country.

Throwback Thursday!
Flip back to the 2021 edition of Wyoming Outdoors where Brad Kelley won our hunting story contest with a sheep hunt account that's hard to put down. Dig into the full story in our Wyoming Outdoors archive. Link below.

"Mike turned to me, "Can you make the shot?"
"No, not with these winds trying to blow me off the rocks." I responded. I knew at this moment that it wasn't about my pride. I couldn't risk losing my dreams, it was safer to move a little closer.
We passed on the shot and slipped down through the rocks. We let the rams out of our sight as we moved over to the next outcropping. It was risky losing sight of them, it was risky moving closer, but these were all risks we had to take."
