When someone says “sing to me” and your burlesque brain immediately goes birds flyin’ high… 🎶😅
We love a classic—but sometimes the real tease is choosing literally any other song.
Originality is sexy. Surprise is sexier.

From the embers, she rises.

Meet Emberé Moon, one of Raleigh Burlesque’s BLOSSOM mentees!

A newer performer with a captivating presence, Emberé creates burlesque as ritual — exploring desire, remembrance, liberation, and the invitation to come home to the body.

She is dynamic, expressive, and absolutely mesmerizing to watch, and we’re so excited to have her joining this incredible cast for Peace, Love & Pasties!

Ever wondered what actually happens in a burlesque class?

For just $15, come spend an hour with Rachel Riot and Dahlia Vee and find out!

Burlesque: Just a Taste is our beginner-friendly teaser class for anyone who has been curious about burlesque. You’ll learn some foundational burlesque moves, practice glove and stocking peels, and learn a short choreography sequence. We’ll also talk about burlesque history, show you some of our favorite props, and introduce you to the local burlesque community and Raleigh School of Burlesque.

You’ll be learning from two experienced performers and instructors with different specialties. Rachel Riot has been performing burlesque since 2007, producing shows for nearly two decades, and teaching burlesque since 2011. Dahlia Vee specializes in classic tease techniques, glove and stocking peels, feather fans, and clothing removal.

This is a low-pressure space to try something new, ask questions, and see if burlesque might be for you.

WANTED: Drag/Stage Makeup Artists & Instructors

The Raleigh School of Burlesque is looking for makeup artists who are well versed in drag makeup and/or stage makeup and interested in teaching workshops for our performer community. All kinds of performers are welcome in our classes, so we’re looking for instructors who can teach techniques that translate across burlesque, drag, theatre, dance, and the stage.

We’re especially interested in workshops covering things like exaggerating and reshaping features for the stage, contouring and highlighting, product selection and how to actually use those products, camouflage and coverage techniques, lashes, brows, lips, creating dimension that reads under stage lighting, and all those theatrical tips, tricks, shortcuts, and “fake it till you make it” secrets performers need to know.

Great at makeup but never taught before? That’s okay! We can work with you to develop your knowledge into a class and help you structure what you want to teach.

There are multiple teaching opportunities available, and we offer competitive instructor rates.

Interested? Email [email protected] to introduce yourself, tell us a little about your makeup experience and what you’d be interested in teaching, and we can discuss the pay scale, class possibilities, and any questions you have.

You don’t have to be flexible to LOOK flexible.

Join visiting performer Celeste LaVie for Faking Flexibility, a workshop all about using angles, body positioning, longer lines, and a little stage illusion to look bendy without actually pushing your limits.

Perfect for less-limber bodies, older bodies, performers returning to movement, or anyone who would simply prefer not to snap themselves in half for the sake of burlesque.
