CITY OF GARLAND MOVING FORWARD WITH $25 MILLION SOCCER COMPLEX

While the original $70.87 million vision for an Atlético Dallas training hub at this site officially fell through when negotiations ended in late 2025, the City of Garland is still keeping its promise to bring a major soccer facility to the community. A new project filing reveals the development of the Garland Soccer Complex at 1770 Holford Road, situated near the President George Bush Turnpike. This updated project represents a $25,000,000 investment and will feature a 14,000-square-foot facility to house locker rooms, a concession stand, restrooms, and a maintenance building to support the surrounding fields.

Construction on the new sports destination is slated to kick off this fall on October 10, 2026, with an estimated completion date exactly one year later on October 10, 2027.

as we close the chapter on our first ever Women’s Premier Soccer League season, we want to thank our players, coaches, staff, families, sponsors, volunteers, community, stakeholders, and supporters who made this journey possible.

Competing in the Lone Star Conference, of the Central Region, widely regarded as one of the most competitive regions & conferences in the country, our young Texas Lone Star SC squad, embraced every challenge and continue to grow through throughout the summer.

Some highlights from our inaugural season:

⚽️ fielded one of the youngest rosters in the WPSL (D1 Division) the with many players under the age of 23.

🏆 Became the only team to defeat defending champions, and nationally recognized, Austin Rise. Austin were the 2025 and 2026 Lone Star conference champions, active TST participants, and have multiple years of experience in the WPSL.

⬆️ Our program was the only team in the conference who was in our inaugural season.

📈 Climbed as high as number #20 in the WPSL Central Region power rankings during the season.

🌟League Honors :
Kennedy Green - WPSL Central Region Defender of the Week.
Bailee Sisson - WPSL Central Region Honorable Mention GK of the week (17-year-old, University of Missouri commit).
Gracie Spradley- WPSL Central Region Honorable Mention Attacking Player of the Week.

❤️ our roster brought together talented players from every stage of the game, including high school, junior college, NCAA, NAIA, indoor soccer, postgraduate, and soccer players to play together for the first time. We are especially proud of the fact that every active roster player played in at least one match during the season.

🚀 the development of our players extended well beyond the field. Throughout the season, members of our squad, received interest from professional organizations, invitations to private identification and evaluation sessions, inquiries related to the US national team, and attention from international professional clubs.
