Also, remember that the January 1-Mile and 5K runs were canceled because of that winter storm. Geez, a winter storm actually sounds pretty good right now with it being 109° outside! 🥵❄️

Do I even need to mention how hot it was this morning? It’s August in Texas. I think you can figure it out! 🥵☀️

Despite the heat, it didn’t deter our Carrollton runners, who showed up for the August Prediction 5K. Congratulations to our overall winner, Steve Russo, who finished just 4.4 seconds off his predicted time! And congratulations to our women’s winner, Kuay Sullivan, who missed her predicted time by only 1:33!

I’d also like to give a special thank you to Steve, who came to our rescue at 5:30 AM this morning. After we set up the turnaround cone, our car decided it wasn’t going anywhere. Steve came gave us a jump and got us back on the road with all of our race gear so that we were able to make it to the start. 🚗

And a big thank you to Ruben Saguil, who donated a portable battery starter so the next time our car battery decides to die, we’ll be prepared!

Thanks to everyone who came out and braved the Texas heat. We appreciate you!

July 1-Mile & 5K Runs

First, my apologies for taking so long to get Sunday's race photos posted. We also hosted a 48-hour race in Saginaw over the weekend, and I'm just now recovering from that event.

Now, back to the Carrollton Runners Club!

Congratulations to our overall 1-Mile winner, Eric Anderson, and our overall 5K winner, Jaydin Turner!

And an extra round of applause for Debbie Riedner, who decided one win wasn't enough and claimed the women's title in both the 1-Mile and the 5K. Nicely done, Debbie!

Thanks to everyone who came out, ran, volunteered, and cheered. I can't wait to see you all in August... when I'm sure we'll have much, much cooler temperatures. 😉

GOOD MORNING, JULY! ☀️🏃

The thermometer wasn't too intimidating when we got started this morning, but the humidity was already hard at work reminding us who's really in charge. By the finish, everyone had definitely earned that post-run drink!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for another great Carrollton Runners Club Prediction 5K. Congratulations to our overall winner, Ruben Arevalo, who finished just 6.2 seconds from his predicted time! On the women's side, Amie Goins claimed the win by finishing only 12.5 seconds from her prediction.

Great job to everyone who came out this morning. We hope to see you back at the starting line next month! 🎉🏅

🌬️ HOT, HUMID... AND WINDY!

This morning's Carrollton Runners Club 5K and 1-Mile served up a little bit of everything Texas summer has to offer. The temperature was climbing, the humidity was hanging around, and the wind made sure nobody got to settle into a comfortable pace.

Congratulations to everyone who joined us this morning, and thanks for making another Carrollton Runners Club race a success. Stay hydrated, stay cool, and we'll see you again next month!

With the humidity, this morning’s June 5K Prediction Run was more like a 5K swim through hot soup! 🥵A massive congratulations to our overall winner, Betsy Palmer, who was a mere 3.4 seconds off her predicted time! 🙌 Also, a huge shoutout to our top male finisher, Julio Lopez, who missed his prediction by just 26.1 seconds. 🏃‍♂️🔥Great job navigating the soup, everyone!

We hope everyone has officially rehydrated, because this morning’s Carrollton Runners Club May 5K and 1-Mile races just proved one thing: Summer has officially arrived in Texas! Huge shoutout to every single runner who showed up and conquered the heat today!
