The Victorian Fencing Society demonstrated Scottish Highland swordsmanship at the Celtic Weekend of the Scarborough Renaissance Festival. Recreating the gladiatorial Prize Fights of the 18th century, members divided in to two teams of Scots and Irish, fighting for the glory of their nation with broadsword, targe, smallsword and dirk.

The Victorian Fencing Society demonstrated 19th century Bowie knife techniques at AudeliaFest, a festival at the Audelia Road Branch Library celebrating the 19th century pioneering family of Ardelia Ellen Jackson. Other activities included an historical exhibit, guest speakers, pioneer crafts and activities, and a guided tour of McCree Cemetery. Thanks to VFS members Kyle West and Curtis Rochelle for their demonstration.
