What will be your favorite changes that you would like to see next year when MLB players and owners go through Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations?

A: New International Draft: This eliminates overseas players choosing which club they play for based solely on the highest offer. This will give teams like the Twins and Royals a chance to sign the best players from Japan, the Dominican Republic, and other regions.

B. Salary Cap and Floor: Owners are pushing to install a payroll cap and floor structure. Salary Cap and Floor: A proposed team cap of $245.3 million and a salary floor of $171.2 million for 2027.

C. Player Compensation: The MLB Players Association (MLBPA) fiercely rejects a hard salary cap, having countered with proposals to instead raise the Competitive Balance Tax (CBT) threshold to $300 million, bump minimum salaries to $1.5 million, and accelerate free agency eligibility. [1, 2, 3]

D. The regular US MLB draft will go from 20 Rounds to probably 10 rounds.

E: Free Agent Changes: "Free agency for players who are 30 at 5+ years of service. Teams that receive revenue sharing forfeit portions of their checks depending on payroll levels. Recipients that win receive more money. Pre-arb bonus pool increases from $50M to $180M. $3M minimum tender in arbitration. Arbitration super 2s jump from 22 percent of players to 44 percent."

F: Revenue Splitting: An even 50-50 split of league wide revenue between clubs and players.

G: Contract Length Caps: Limiting external free agent contracts to a maximum of five years.

H: Draft Restructuring: Proposals to make high school players under age 20 ineligible for the domestic draft and cutting total draft rounds.
