A couple of years ago on a friday, during our summer camps, I got a call from my coach at Kovar Systems. I told him that I'd have to step outside because we were busy running our end of camp Belt Test. He was surprised because most camps, he said, did not do belt tests at the end of camp.They did things like lego camp or minecraft camp. I explained that our camps are skills camps. We play a lot of games, and we have a lot of fun and we watch a lot of movies, but many of our kids come to camp so that they can gain skill and learn more karate.
Today was friday and we finished with a test. Four of our karate students moved up in belt rank, with the highest moving to first brown, one step before black belt. Six of our students moved up in instructor rank in our storm team program. In storm team, we teach them how to be leaders.And instructors. Most of our staff started very young and have been doing karate for ten to fifteen years. Along the way, they joined storm team, and we've been training them how to be leaders and instructors. They are really good at karate, because they've been doing it a long time under qualified instructors, and they are really good at teaching karate, because we 've been training them for a long time, using the best practices of the best schools in the world. STORM TEAM! We'll have our monthly Preston Road STORM TEAM class at Preston Road on Wednesday, 6/17 at 5:15pm. If you are in STORM TEAM at Preston Road this Wednesday at 5:15pm!
If you do STORM TEAM at Old Denton, missed the class at Old Denton last week, or want to make up a missed class, then come in on Wednesday to Preston Road. We do have a Junior class immediately after followed by Junior Sparring and Advanced Juniors, so you can make it an evening.
