The Capitola Junior Lifeguard Parents Club is a non-profit organizaion founded in 1982 by a former group of Capitola Lifeguards and parents of Junior Lifeguards. The mission of the CJLPC is to assist the City of Capitola to preserve, complement, and enhance the Capitola Junior Lifeguard Program through fundraising, collage scholarships, JG program scholarships, public program awareness as well as event and equipment support.

Here’s some extra info about the Nor Cal competition which is tomorrow for little guards and Thursday for Junior Guards! The second session Nor cal comp is hosted by Santa Cruz Jr Guard Booster Club & will be at Main Beach- in front of the boardwalk!
Please allow extra time for parking and bring lots of snacks, water and sunscreen for your competitors!! It’s always such a wonderful event, and we encourage healthy, kind competition!!

Hello Team Tola Families,
Happy Week 2 of Second Session! We have had a great start with lots of swims and smiles! The Family Wharf Swim and Alumni/Parent comp were a huge success, and we hope to see more participants next year to join in the fun.
This year Santa Cruz will be hosting a Parents Run Swim Run during the lunch hour of the Little Guards competition, so be sure to bring your gear and represent Team Tola!

What a morning we had yesterday!! Thank you so much to all the parents volunteers and instructors for organizing and running the Parent/Alumni Comp. This is such an important part of the legacy of this Capitola Junior Guards Program. So many of these parents had lots of stories to share from their time as little guards through high school and becoming instructors themselves! It was an inspiration!! Next year we’d love to see more parents participate! Yes it’s lots of work, but it’s mostly SO MUCH FUN! And you get rewarded with a wharf jump! One of the best parts honestly is seeing all the kids cheering their parents on, it’s important to show them that we can do it too!!

Our annual family swim is TODAY at 4.30 at Hooper’s beach (north beach by the wharf). Don’t miss out on this awesome community event. Bring your parents your aunties, your neighbors! This is for all who want to participate, the more the merrier! You can swim, paddle, we even saw floaties last year. It’s such an incredible event and we hope to see you all there! A special thank you to Nikki Brooks for always capturing this event. Here’s some photos from last years big swim, and she’ll be back taking more photos today!!

If your kids got into regionals! Yay & congratulations!!
Our very own JG super stars Munchie & Isaiah are running this training camp over the next few weeks!! It’s a great opportunity to get your kids out the house and get physically and mentally prepared for the competition that’s coming up July 23rd. No need to sign up, but please Venmo on arrival and support these two raise money for their own National JG competition journey!
We are so lucky to have Munchie and Isaiah offer this camp so don’t miss out!! First day starts tomorrow 7/8 7am-8.15am at the capitola beach jetty!
