Really?

Where did these largely young, inexperienced, and naive democratic socialists find their agenda?

One of the many things my Dad taught me was, “If you’re gonna do something, do it right the first time.”

We had a pretty bad storm late this afternoon (imagine that?!). And I just knew that most of the flags would be blown over … probably many on the ground.
—- So, after bringing SSgt David Karnes to the Police Assoc of Cape Coral so he could talk to them about his actions on 9/11 finding two Port Authority Officers buried but still alive, I figured it made sense to go check on the flags …

Sure enough, the vast majority were blown over, and nearly 1/3 were on the ground.

With light from my Jeep, 3 hours of my time, a hammer, and a screwdriver (to make better holes), I got about 1/3 of them fixed.

Will finish tomorrow morning.

As I continue to reflect on the past 15 months, especially since Aug 18th …

The cost of INACTION is always higher than the cost of failure.

Always.

Failing teaches you.
Doing nothing destroys you.

Take action. Learn. Grow.

Inaction only ever leads to more difficulty and challenges.

Desire to be the man in the arena.

Or, for a sports analogy related to America’s National Pastime:

Desire to be the one at the plate in the batter’s box … not a watcher from the bench.

As we fondly say in Fighter Jet aviation:
“Speed is life.”

But, ultimately, I have always believed that God has an individual plan for each of us.

Faith is oh-so powerful.

ONE WEEK POST ELECTION DAY: THE MISSION CONTINUES.

Last night, I was right back on the wrestling mat at Triton Youth Wrestling practice.

Even throughout 15 months of campaigning, I never stopped being Coach Mike / Coach Pedersen. I made a commitment to these young people long before I ever put my name on a ballot, and I intend to keep it.

Elections have a finish line. Service doesn’t.

It was great spending the evening doing what I’ve done for more than 2 decades—investing in our youth, building character and hopefully making a difference along the way.

The campaign is over. The mission to serve is not.

ESPN’s SC Feature documentary “Pin Kings” was first aired on TV. They ran it for months. Oftentimes, once a day.

Very proud of my little brother Kevin’s story. —-

A tale of friendship, accomplishment, hardship, life decisions, regrets, and eventually … redemption and forgiveness.

Four years ago, Kevin was rightly inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame (Florida Chapter) under the fitting category of “Outstanding American.”
