Educational post. Owning horses/animals always means there will be bad days mixed with the good. Yesterday Shelby decided to colic. For those that don’t know colic is basically a broad term for stomach pain. This is one of the most common causes of death in horses. We treated her like we normally would. Gave banamine(pain reliever/muscle relaxer) and walked her around. However she wasn’t getting better. Made the decision to have the vet out to be safe. 20minutes later the vet called me back and within 8 minutes they were here! One of the most beneficial things to have when owning pets is a great vet you trust! After some more drugs, bloodwork,etc she seemed a lot more comfortable. Yesterday we weren’t sure if she would make it through. We were prepared for the worst. She looked terrible. This morning I bring her in and she is acting like nothing ever happened… 😳 here are some pics to show just how quickly things can go south then turn right back around to them acting perfectly fine. Also bloodwork came back pretty normal she was just a little anemic.

Weather looks absolutely amazing for the next week or so!!! Come take a ride with us before it turns cold and wet! We still have some spots available this weekend and next week/weekend. We are closed Thursday and Friday but will be open all other days. Call/text to get a ride set up before we fill up! Trails are absolutely amazing this time of year.
