This Veteran stopped along a busy highway to pick up a discarded United States flag from the side of the road โ a simple act, but one that says so much. ๐บ๐ธ
To many, our flag is more than fabric. It is a symbol of freedom. Its 13 stripes represent the original colonies, and its 50 stars represent the states that make up this nation. The colors carry meaning, too: red for valor and bravery, white for purity and innocence, and blue for vigilance, perseverance, and justice.
That flag has flown over battlefields, homes, schools, small towns, military posts, and front porches. It has been carried by those who served, honored by families who sacrificed, and raised by generations who believe in what it stands for.
We may not always agree on everything, but we should always honor the symbol of the freedom we share.
To the Veteran who stopped to pick it up: thank you. Thank you for your service, your respect, and your reminder that the flag should be flown with pride, handled with care, and honored for what it represents.
