💙 It’s Welcoming Week at the YMCA! 💙
As part of this special week, we reached out to the De Rioja family to hear about their experience and learn what the Camarillo Family YMCA means to them. We love hearing directly from the families who make our Y community so special! 🫶✨
"Our family first found the Camarillo Family YMCA when we relocated to Camarillo from Vandenberg. As we settled into a new community, it was important to us to find a place where Mya could feel a sense of belonging and develop the values of friendship, kindness, and connection. The Y quickly became that place for her—and for all of us.
One of our most special memories was watching Mya learn how to swim at the Y. She started out afraid of the water, but with encouragement and support, she overcame that fear. We were there cheering her on as she gained confidence and discovered what she was capable of. The Y is also where she formed meaningful friendships and created so many core childhood memories that our family will always treasure.
To our family, the YMCA represents friendship, growth, encouragement, and belonging. It feels welcoming because it gives every family a place where they can connect, feel supported, and truly become part of a community. Mya has grown so much through her experiences at the Y, and now we have a three-year-old who cannot wait to join the crew and begin creating her own friendships and memories!"
We just love having Mya here at the Y! She truly makes our days brighter, and all of us are counting down the days until we get to have the little one with us too! 🥰✨
