25 workouts for Brandy!

A couple months ago, Brandy knew why she wanted to start strength training.

She wanted to build muscle, get stronger, and invest in being strong and capable for the long term.

There was just one problem:

She wasn't sure where to start.

Strength training was new. Group classes were outside her comfort zone. And during her first week, she admitted that personal training felt a lot more comfortable because following instructions in a group setting was still a challenge.

But she kept learning.

She worked one-on-one with Coach Savanna each week and continued showing up for her two group classes.

Now she's officially completed her first 25 workouts.

And when we asked what helped her get here, she said:

“Seeing results way faster than I ever thought possible helps keep me motivated. But I also just genuinely love your gym and the people there. I feel soooo lucky to have found it.”

Then she added:

“It's like the ideal scenario for me. I also love working with Savanna.”

That's what we want those first 25 workouts to do.

Not turn you into an expert.

Give you enough coaching, practice, and support that something you weren't sure how to start begins to feel like something you belong doing.

Congratulations on 25, Brandy! We're pretty lucky you found us too.

Getting stronger doesn't mean you have to walk into the gym and immediately start lifting heavy.

Strength is built over time.

You learn the movement.

You find a weight that's appropriate for YOU.

You practice.

And when you're ready, you add a little more.

Then one day you realize the weight that used to feel heavy doesn't feel quite so heavy anymore.

That's progress.

At GROW, we're not interested in comparing your weights to the person next to you.

We're interested in helping YOU get stronger than you were before.

Before joining GROW, Jess already knew something about herself:

Solo workouts didn't stick.

She wanted to get stronger and make fitness part of her life again, but she also knew she did better when there were other people around her to work with and encourage her.

Fast forward to her first 25 workouts.

She's learning movements that were completely new to her, adding weight to her front squats, feeling stronger, and noticing that hiking and camping don't feel quite as taxing anymore.

But when we asked what helped her keep coming back, she didn't mention any of those things.

She said:

“The community there is what helped me keep coming back. I always have fun with everyone. We work hard and joke harder.”

Sometimes the best workout program isn't just the one written on the board.

It's the one you actually want to come back to.

The people around you matter. Having coaches who know you matter. Working hard while still being able to laugh and enjoy the 45 minutes matters.

Jess is still building her routine, but 25 workouts in, she's already stronger than when she started and has found people who make showing up a little easier.

Congratulations on your first 25, Jess! Here's to the next 25.

100 workouts for Stephanie!

When Stephanie started at GROW earlier this year, she wasn't looking for another workout she could try to squeeze into her life.

She had already tried working out at home and going to self-directed gyms.

The problem wasn't knowing exercise was important.

She needed a routine that could actually survive work, three kids, changing schedules, and everything else competing for her time.

So Stephanie started scheduling her workouts before work.

And she kept scheduling them.

About eight months later, she's officially completed 100 workouts, averaging almost exactly 3 workouts every week since she started.

When we asked what advice she'd give someone just getting started, she gave us a whole list. But one piece really stood out:

Set an achievable goal for how often you'll work out, revisit your schedule as life changes, and schedule your workouts a week in advance.

She also acknowledged that motivation isn't always going to be there. On those days, she tries to be kind to herself, and sticks to the schedule anyway.

That's what sustainable fitness can look like.

Not finding a magically empty calendar.

Not having endless motivation.

Building a routine, planning ahead, asking for help when you need it, and adjusting when life changes.

100 workouts later, Stephanie is stronger, lifting heavier, moving better, and has said establishing her morning routine was “one of the best decisions I've made.”

Congratulations on 100, Stephanie!

You leave work.

You're tired.

Going home sounds a whole lot easier than going to the gym.

We get it.

That's also why having a scheduled class and people expecting you can make such a difference.

You don't have to decide what workout to do or try to motivate yourself through it alone.

Show up at 4:30 or 5:45.

We'll have the workout ready and a coach there to help.

If an after-work workout could fit into your routine, we currently have room in our PM classes.

25 workouts for Cailyn!

When Cailyn first came to GROW, one of the biggest things standing between her and strength training was fear.

Gyms felt intimidating. Weights were unfamiliar. She wasn't confident that she'd know what to do.

Almost 90 days later, she's completed her first 25 workouts, averaging nearly 3 workouts every week.

And when we asked what helped her get here, she said:

“I was really fearful when I first started, but the welcoming environment kept me coming back and I've become stronger than I ever thought I would in just 25 sessions.”

In 25 workouts, Cailyn has gone from being intimidated by strength training to being proud of herself for using a barbell, choosing heavier weights, and discovering strength she didn't realize she already had.

Sometimes getting stronger isn't only about building something new.

Sometimes it's finally getting the opportunity to discover what was already there.

Congratulations on your first 25, Cailyn! We're excited to see what else you uncover.

You are not too old to start exercising.

And you don't have to train the way you did at 25.

Your workouts can meet you exactly where you are right now and progress as YOU get stronger.

That's one of the things we care about most at GROW.

Different ages. Different experience levels. Different goals.

Everyone still gets to get stronger.

Not sure where you'd start? That's exactly what our FREE No Sweat Intro is for.

25 CLUB for Jen!

Jen officially has her first 25 workouts under her belt!

And one of our favorite parts of this milestone is that Jen actually first found GROW months before she became a member. The timing wasn't quite right then, but she reached back out, took the leap, and joined us.

About 90 days later, she's feeling stronger, the workouts are starting to feel more familiar, and she's working toward a consistent 3x/week routine, even planning ahead for workouts when she travels.

When we asked what helped her reach 25, Jen said:

“What keeps me going is the supportive environment and continuous push to improve. I love the coaches and the workouts!!”

We're pretty glad you reached back out, Jen.

Congratulations on your first 25! Here's to many more.

100 workouts for Kara!

Seven months ago, Kara walked into GROW very new to strength training.

She had never worked with a coach. She had never done group classes. Barbells and movements like squats, rows, and bench presses were unfamiliar.

And she wasn't even sure she'd stick with it.

This month, Kara completed her 100th workout.

That's an average of more than 3 workouts every week since she started.

But here's something we love about Kara's story:

She'll be the first to tell you that she doesn't always feel like working out.

After a full day at work, there are plenty of days she'd rather skip it. What she's learned is that the hardest part is simply showing up. Once she gets started, she's always happy she came.

At 100 sessions, her advice to someone starting out was:

“Just keep showing up and don't get discouraged if you don't see changes right away. Just focus on yourself and getting a little stronger each time.”

And that's exactly what she's done.

Movements that once felt intimidating are now familiar. She's lifting heavier. Her legs feel stronger. And the woman who wasn't sure she'd stick with it recently told us:

“I never imagined I'd stick with it this consistently or enjoy it as much as I do.”

100 workouts can change a lot.

Congratulations, Kara. We're so proud of you!

100 workouts for Alisa!

When Alisa started at GROW a little over a year ago, she told us something a lot of parents can probably relate to:

With four kids, making time for herself was hard.

But she also knew it was time to start showing up for herself.

So she did.

Not perfectly. Not with a schedule that magically became less busy. And definitely not because every week suddenly became easy.

She just kept finding ways to make it work.

Sometimes that meant a different class time. Sometimes a week wasn't as consistent as she wanted. Eventually, she added semi-private training alongside group classes.

And all of those weeks have now added up to 100 workouts.

Along the way, she's gotten stronger, become more confident in the gym, improved her everyday movement, and made meaningful changes to the way she thinks about food and taking care of herself.

At 50 workouts, Alisa described one of the biggest things she'd learned:

“To give myself grace. Some weeks are awesome, and some just are not and that's ok too. One movement at a time, one workout at a time, just don't quit.”

And now she's at 100.

If you're waiting for your schedule to become perfectly predictable before you start taking care of yourself, you might be waiting a long time.

Sometimes you just have to start, and then keep figuring out how to make it work.

Congratulations on 100, Alisa!
