MEET THE TEAM: Nikki Melanson

Nikki has been riding since she was 2 and actually started with GFF's own Mel! She rode at GFF until she was 12 and then hopped into eventing for 9 years.

Nikki attended Wilson College and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Equine Facilitated Therapeutics and a minor in Equine Science. While at Wilson, she rode on the IHSA team for 4 years as a Open rider and played Field Hockey and Lacrosse.

Nikki returned to GFF full time in 2015 post grad and has worked for Kathy and Mike for the last 11 years.

Nikki started grooming at GFF as her first job here, progressing over time to grooming for Emma Fletcher during her junior career. Nikki has since taken on the road manager’s position, keeping our team of show horses and riders organized and at the top of their game. She takes so much pride in developing relationships with the horses and their people. She has a genuine love for being able to help both perform to the best of their abilities.

Our younger adults killed it this morning, kicking off the weekend at the northeast classic

Maggie and Evan in the open equitation won two of the 3 classes!

Ally Manoog flying in from Texas just this early morning hitting the ground running with Loui “the qualifier” won the New England punching her ticket along with Jamie and Boo following up with a second to also qualify!

Received an update from one of our all-time favorite horses today ! Millthyme Lambrini, known to his many friends and admirers as “Larry”, went to a wonderful semi-retirement home a while back, with a family who have been trailriding him and providing him with all of the love and admiration he deserves.

Today was a very special occasion. He made an appearance at the Myopia Hunt Club show, showing in the Hilltoppers and the Appointments classes. There were blue ribbons and happy tears.
Still building his résumé at the tender age of 26 !!!!

Leona & Emmett:
*Champion in 11/Under Eq,
*10th in the MHJ Mini Medal Final

Brynna & Balou:
*2nd in the MHC qualifying her for junior finals
*mix of ribbons in the 12-14 equitation
*7th in the MHJ Children’s Medal Final

Izzy & Chicco:
*3rd and 4th in day one of the low adult hunters scratching Fri due to the heavy rain
🥇Champion Adult Mini Medal Final

Noora & Lenny:
*2nd in the Maclay
*Great finals practice in the .90 and 1m

Noora & Puma:
*2nd and 6th in the 15-17 equitation
*2nd and 6th in the 15-17 Ch Hunters
*Great experience for a young horse in the MHJ finals

Maggie & Evan:
*Champion in the younger adult equitation
*8th in the Adult Medal Finals

Maggie & Charlie:
*2nd in the .95 Jr/Am Jumper Final

Dylan & Felix:
*3rd 4th and 7th in Children’s equitation
*Solid round in the Children’s finals

Cynthia and Parker:
*finished qualifying for NEEC with 2 thirds out of 2 good sized adult classes

Ben and Rose
*Had some great off property practice with Ribbons in the 3’3” A/O’s

Bernie and Maggie continuing to gain miles in the 3’3” preparing for finals

Louie:
*solid practice rounds for finals in the 1M with both Emma and Kate


Bournebon:
*2nd and 4th out of 53 in ushja hunters with Emma Fletcher

What a great week for the GFF team at Fieldstone! Loving these results:

Chris + Chilmark: 1st, 2nd and 5ths in the 2ft adult hunter

Izzy + Chicco: Champion Low Adult Hunter
6th in the child/adult derby

Dylan + Vegas: Moved up in the .75 Jr/Am jumpers with 2 classes double clear. Earning all 10 pts qualifying for finals

MEET THE TEAM | Jenna Gallagher

Jenna’s passion for horses began in the show rings of New England and NY, where she competed as a
junior rider and working student with Sally Hart at Overmead Farm in Lenox, Massachusetts. She
qualified for championships including the PHA, MHC, and NEEC Finals, as well as Zone 1 Regionals,
before focusing on the jumper ring during her college years while also leading summer riding camps.

After relocating to Eastern Massachusetts in 1998, Jenna continued her education under respected professionals Anne Sibson and Debbie Hoyt Banfield. Her experience at Bittersweet Farm with Anne Sibson instilled a deep appreciation for traditional horsemanship, horse care, and rider development that continues to define her approach today.

In 2015, Jenna partnered with Kathy Fletcher and the team at Grazing Fields Farm, beginning a collaboration that has spanned more than a decade. Together, they have supported numerous riders, including Jenna’s daughter, Lily, whose accomplishments include winning SEHA and MHJ Junior Medal Finals, Reserve Champion in the 3'3" Junior Hunters at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show (winning an over fences class), Regional WCHR Junior 3’3” Hunter Champion, and 5th at the NHS Adult Equitation Championship paired that evening with the Adult Hunter Classic Reserve Champion.

Today, Jenna is proud to be part of the Grazing Fields Farm team, bringing more than 30 years of
experience in instruction, horse care, and barn management. With a master’s degree in education and a
lifelong love of horses, she is dedicated to helping riders achieve their goals while fostering positive experiences. Above all, the connection she feels with horses remains the most rewarding part of her career ~ for the love of the horse ~ no doubt established in childhood.

Thanks River Wind Farm for hosting today’s show. Congratulations to Maggie qualifying for NEEC and Avery for finishing her points to send her to NHS finals!
