In our district, many teachers can share stories about students who come to school on Monday not hesitant to begin the week, but eager to return after a weekend without a proper meal or any idea when they will have their next one. These children are the reason we initiated the Backpack Program here in MSAD #6.
Our Backpack Program discreetly supplies nutritious, child-friendly, and easy-to-prepare food to children in all our district schools. Students take food bags home over the weekend and during school breaks when classes are not in session.
Here’s how you can help:
Make a cash or check donation. Checks can be made payable to BE – District Backpack Program (return the sealed envelope with your child; Attn: Backpack Program Coordinator)
