💙STYLE SPOTLIGHT: HIP HOP💙

Hip Hop is all about rhythm, control, musicality, confidence, and individuality. Elements of our Hip Hop curriculum begin with our younger dancers, introducing body control and musicality before dedicated Hip Hop training begins at age 6.

🎵 Ages 6–11
Develop rhythm, coordination, body control, groove, and confidence.

🔥 Ages 12–14
Explore more intricate choreography, musicality, dynamics, isolations, and performance.

⚡ Ages 15–18
Take on advanced choreography, complexity, versatility, and individual style.

Each class combines skill development with choreography, leading to a finished routine performed at competitions and/or our annual spring recital.

💙STYLE SPOTLIGHT: Ballet|Lyrical|Contemporary💙

Ballet is the most fundamental style, whose technical elements build the world of dance. From there, Lyrical and Contemporary work together to create some of the most versatile and expressive dancers. At MCDC, our program is designed as a progression: dancers begin by developing a strong technical foundation in Ballet, gradually introduce the emotion and storytelling of Lyrical, and eventually explore the creativity, versatility, and artistry of Contemporary.

As dancers grow, so does their movement. Each level builds upon the technique developed before it while introducing new ways to move, perform, and express themselves.

🩰 Ages 2–8 | Ballet
Build strong fundamentals, technique, balance, flexibility, coordination, and control.

✨ Ages 9–11 | Lyrical
Continue building Ballet technique while introducing fluid movement, musicality, emotion, and storytelling.

🤍 Ages 12–14 | Lyrical + Contemporary
Expand artistry through Lyrical while beginning to explore Contemporary movement, floorwork, dynamics, and improvisation.

🌟 Ages 15–18 | Contemporary
Bring it all together through advanced movement, artistry, improvisation, individual expression, and Contemporary choreography.

Each stage builds upon the one before it, giving our dancers the technical foundation they need while allowing their artistry and individuality to grow.

And just like that…WE’RE BACK! 💃🏻💙

A brand-new dance season is beginning at Mining City Dance Co. and I’m SO excited to have our dancers back in the studio!

New classes.
New choreography.
New goals.
New memories.
And probably about 8 million “5, 6, 7, 8’s” coming out of my mouth. 😂

There is just something special about the beginning of a new season. Watching these kids grow in confidence, friendships and talent never gets old.

💙STYLE SPOTLIGHT: JAZZ💙

Jazz is an energetic and expressive style of dance that combines strong technique with dynamic movement and performance. From sharp, powerful choreography to smooth, stylized movement, Jazz challenges dancers to develop strength, flexibility, coordination, musicality, and confidence while discovering their own personality as a performer.

Our Jazz program grows alongside our dancers, beginning with foundational movement and progressing into turns, leaps, jumps, flexibility, complex combinations, and advanced choreography.

Tap is a high-energy style of dance where dancers become part of the music! Using specially designed tap shoes, dancers learn to create rhythms and sounds through precise footwork while developing musicality, coordination, timing, and confidence.

Our Tap program grows alongside our dancers, beginning with basic rhythms and fundamental movements and progressing into faster footwork, intricate combinations, musicality, and improvisation.
