I rode my young mare in the outdoor in a lesson with Lindsay in the outdoor then went for a walk down the driveway. 70's sunny and with a light breeze. Perfect weather.

Today I had the honor of chauffering Silver to his mom's wedding so she could ride him down the aisle! He was a perfect angel for it all - trailering, being the only horse for miles, carrying her ba****ck in her wedding dress, and greeting kids and adults afterward. ❤️

Then, after getting home and unloading him and all the stuff, my ankle gave out and I fell on a rock! 🤦‍♀️ Urgent care facilities were all closed to I went to the ER to get it stitched up. Sigh. At least my Cavallo tights weren't ruined & kept the injury clean.

I have known Cathy and Farruco for years and it has been my pleasure to help them and Cathy's daughter Jessica the last 2 years! Farruco has found new levels of relaxation and trust, overcome a lateral tendency in his walk, and even enjoys his dressage work and being petted (after a bout of Lymes when he was imported, he became very touch-sensitive). In addition, Cathy and Jessica have learned more lateral work and dressage basics. I am excited to help them continue in their journey!

"We absolutely love our weekly lessons with Ingrid! We are passionate about learning dressage in a harmonious manner with our PRE (Andalusian) Farruco. Farruco is quite a sensitive horse, and suffers from kissing spine and frequent pain, but he is also a perfectionist and very willing to please. This dilemma can cause him to feel tense at times. Ingrid has helped us so much with helping Farruco find relaxation under saddle! He used to have a very rushed, staccato-like walk and would brace during some transitions. With Ingrid’s gentle coaching, she has helped Farruco find a relaxed, but still energetic and swinging walk, and has helped him feel so much more relaxed in his transitions. His eye and tail are both much softer during riding. Additionally, the exercises she has recommended both on the ground and in the saddle have helped strengthen his thoracic sling and back, which helps to relieve his kissing spine pain. Finally, she has helped Farruco emotionally—by telling him it’s ok if things aren’t perfect and reminding us to breathe and help him find relaxation. We are so excited to continue our dressage journey with Ingrid and Farruco!"

Transformation Testimonial Tuesday

As a trainer and coach, few things are more rewarding than helping others find better connection and balance with their horse. I have really enjoyed working with Shelly Fehn and Knight. Shelly has fantastic feel and gives her horse the best care! With targeted groundwork and ridden dressage exercises, we helped Knight develop strength in his thoracic sling, organize his body better with his big gaits, and find collection. ❤️

Another great trail ride today! Macaria says bikes, construction signs, mailboxes, and flags are no big deal. The only exciting part was the horses nearby who came up to say hi.

I got a break from puppy raising today to go see my mare. Macaria BEC PF aka "Aria" was a star today on our outdoor ride. Without any lungeing or ground work, I mounted and rode her to the outdoor for our first ride out there. And she got a little dripped on by rain too (also a first). I am so thankful Colleen showed us the field we can ride around, and the mystery trail behind the house next door (on which Macaria trail-blazed!). I am proud of her for handling it all with aplomb, including Colleen's Dalmatian Freida running up past her her.

My prescription for a good trail horse: go for trail walks together, with you on the ground. Build confidence experiencing novel objects and creatures in familiar places, with friends (you count!), before venturing further. Bring treats and encourage your horse to approach and even touch objects, reward their courage with treats.

Poppy sure enjoys having a friend to wrestle with! Kaylee is pretty fierce too! I love how they both take breaks too.
