In my last post, we talked about how medical professionals and psychotherapists use hypnosis for healing and mental health. But there’s another massive area where it shines: LifeSkills Mentoring.
While medical personnel use hypnosis for physical healing, I use it in my private practice for empowerment and transitional prep.
Think of hypnotherapy as an accelerator that speeds up the process of positive change.
When you navigate a major life shift—especially moving out of the workforce and into retirement—the hardest part isn't the logistics. It’s the inner shift.
Throughout life, every major stage requires a brand-new set of life skills:
● Kindergarten to Middle School: Social adaptation & routine
● High School to Career: Independence & responsibility
● Career to Retirement: Identity, purpose, & personal reinvention
Retirement itself isn't just one event—it unfolds across three distinct phases:
1. The Go-Go Years (~65–75): High energy, active travel, and making up for lost time.
2. The Slow-Go Years (~75–85): A shift toward local connection, routine, and legacy.
3. The No-Go Years (85+): Focus on comfort, deep reflection, and peace.
(If you want to see a great short video breaking down how these 3 life stages actually play out in everyday life, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8e2oP4pHNE)
You’ll see endless local workshops on managing 401(k)s or estate planning. But few (if any) teach the inner life skills needed to let go of a lifelong career identity and step into a new chapter with confidence. That is where applied life skills mentoring, transitional prep, and hypnotherapy come together.
While standard mentors help map out your path, I add hypnotherapy that works directly with your subconscious mind to clear friction, break old habits, and make the shift faster, smoother, and far less stressful.
If you are preparing to step off the career path and into your next phase, you don't have to navigate the psychological shift alone. Drop a comment below or send a direct message to learn how transitional prep can help you make the most of your next chapter.
