💡 WORD OF THE WEEK: INNOVATION
Innovation means using your imagination to create something new—or finding a better way to do something.
It begins when we stay curious and ask:
“What if I tried it this way?”
“How could I make this better?”
“What can I learn from this mistake?”
Innovation is an important part of Inspire Founding Principle #3: Honor Tradition and Embrace Innovation.
In martial arts, we honor the instructors, values, techniques, and traditions that created our foundation. At the same time, we remain open to learning, adjusting, and discovering better ways to grow.
That is also the heart of Il Il Shin—Every Day Renew. We respect where we came from while continuing to move forward, one improvement at a time.
This week’s challenge: Find one problem at home, school, work, or martial arts practice—and try one new way to solve it.
Honor Tradition. Embrace Innovation. Be Better Every Day. 🥋

What a special night for our Inspire family!
We are incredibly grateful to Grandmaster Chris Berlow for sharing the joy and meaningful ritual of Tahdo—tea—with our students. What an honor to slow down, come together, and experience this practice with him firsthand.
We began by setting our intentions. Grandmaster Berlow guided us through meditation and taught us how to quiet the noise, focus our minds, and connect with the goal that matters most to us. We energized our bodies with longevity stretches and bodyweight exercises, then reflected on the experience and how we could carry more peace, happiness, and purpose into the following day.
This is IL IL SHIN: EVERY DAY RENEW.
Through the vision and leadership of Grandmaster Keith Winkle and Grandmaster Chris Berlow, Il Il Shin reminds us that each day is a new opportunity—to strengthen our bodies, reset our minds, reconnect with our purpose, and become a little better than we were yesterday.
And this invitation is not only for martial artists. It is for YOU, too.
Take a moment. Set your intention. Move your body. Quiet your mind. Decide what you want to carry forward—and what you are ready to leave behind.
Then begin again.
We invite you to join us and experience the Il Il Shin movement for yourself. Let’s Create Our Best Lives—one intentional day at a time.
Every Day Renew. From Our Mats to the World. 🌱

🤩 Our Word of the Week is PLAY!
Play means having fun, enjoying activities, and being active in a positive way.
Play isn’t just for little kids! It helps people of every age learn, grow, build relationships, and experience more joy.
On the martial arts mat, games and challenges help us improve our balance, coordination, focus, teamwork, and creativity. When we’re having fun, we’re more willing to practice, make mistakes, and keep trying!
This week’s challenge: Make time to PLAY! Create a new game, invite someone to join you in a fun activity, or bring a playful attitude to something you already do.
Work hard. Keep growing. And don’t forget to have FUN!
Il Il Shin—Be Better Every Day! 🥋

🤩 WORD OF THE WEEK: CURIOSITY🔎
Curiosity means wanting to learn, explore, and understand more!
Curious people ask questions like:
🥋 How does that work?
🥋 Why did that happen?
🥋 What can I try differently?
🥋 What can I learn from this?
In martial arts, we don’t want students to simply memorize a technique—we want them to understand it! Curious students pay attention, ask thoughtful questions, try new approaches, and learn from both their successes and their mistakes.
Curiosity can also help us understand other people. Instead of assuming we know what someone is thinking or feeling, we can slow down, ask questions, and listen.
That is Il Il Shin—Be Better Every Day. Keep a white belt mentality and remember that there is always more to discover!
🌟 THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE: Ask one thoughtful question every day. Every question can open the door to growth!
