Want better results from your workouts?

SLOW 👏 IT 👏 DOWN

That’s our trainer tip this week:

Speed doesn’t build strength. Control does!

Whether you’re doing curls, presses, or squats, slowing your tempo builds more muscle and makes your joints happier in the long run.

Remember, QUALITY matters on every rep!

Try a 3-second lowering tempo on your next lift, and see if you can feel the difference.

Want to train with coaches who know your name AND remember how much weight you used last time?

Come see what we are all about.

You can work really, really hard and still be training for the wrong thing.

So in our latest education video, Chris ranks some of the most popular forms of exercise based on one question:

If your goal is to lose fat, build or maintain muscle, get stronger, and change your body composition, how effective is this type of training?

Pilates and barre? 1/10.
Boot camps? 2.5/10.
Random gym lifting? 6/10.
CrossFit? 6/10.
Properly programmed strength and hypertrophy training? 10/10.

Before you get mad, there's an important distinction:

We're not saying Pilates, CrossFit, boot camps, running, or anything else you enjoy are bad.

We're asking whether they're the most effective tools for the specific goal you have.

Because sweating more doesn't necessarily mean you're building more muscle.

Being exhausted doesn't mean you're creating progressive overload.

And doing the same workout over and over doesn't mean your body has a reason to keep adapting.

If your goal is to change your body, your training needs a plan.

And if you've been working incredibly hard without getting the results you expected, maybe you didn't fail the program.

Maybe the program failed you.

Watch the full video to see Chris's complete ranking—and why properly programmed strength training comes out on top.

This nutrition professor ate mostly Tw***ies, Doritos, snack cakes, and sugary cereal

and lost 27 pounds. đŸ€Ż

So how is that possible?

And more importantly, what does this actually teach us about weight loss?

Chris breaks down the answer—and what it means for calories, macros, and fat loss—in the full video.

This is awesome:

11 Years & I have decided not to participate in the aging process 😊

âŹ†ïž That’s what one of our clients wrote on our chalkboard this week when we asked their years of training and why they keep doing this.

There are a million reasons to keep training, and the fact that our clients know that their health and longevity are LIFELONG commitments tells us everything we need to know about their dedication!

We know it’s easy to get caught up in quick results and seemingly overnight transformations.

The real benefit of training, though, comes when you stick with it. It simply becomes part of who you are, and your bones, muscles, and independence become things you can rely on and trust.

Wouldn’t it feel good to know your body could do ANYTHING you want it to?

We can help you get there.

A couple weeks ago, we asked our Fit House crew to finish the thought:

“I will never regret _____.”

The answers were pretty telling:

đŸ’Ș Lifting heavy
đŸ’Ș Following through
đŸ’Ș Trying
đŸ’Ș Showing up
đŸ’Ș Getting here even when I thought I was too tired
đŸ’Ș Continuing this for 12 years

Nobody wrote, “I’ll never regret taking the easy way out.”

Because the best parts of getting stronger usually aren't about having the perfect workout, feeling motivated, or never missing a day.

They're about showing up anyway.

Trying anyway.
Following through anyway.
Doing something today that your future self will be glad you did.

You might regret the workout you skipped. You will never regret the one you showed up for!

Can you lose weight eating Tw***ies?

Yep. You can.

And before you think we’ve completely lost our minds, there’s an important lesson here.

At the most basic level, weight loss comes down to energy balance. If you consistently eat fewer calories than your body uses, you lose weight—even if some of those calories come from Tw***ies.

That doesn’t mean you SHOULD live on Tw***ies.

Food quality matters. Protein matters. Fiber matters. Nutrient density matters. And if you want to lose fat while keeping the muscle that gives your body strength and shape, proper strength training matters A LOT.

But people often get so caught up in the details—perfect macros, eliminating certain foods, finding the “right” diet—that they lose sight of the biggest lever:

How much food are you actually eating?

And there’s another reason strength training belongs in the conversation: building and maintaining muscle helps you create a bigger, more capable “engine,” so you can lose fat without having to survive on tiny portions forever.

So no, we’re not prescribing a Tw***ie diet. 😂

We’re saying that understanding the fundamentals can make weight loss a whole lot less complicated.

Watch the full video to see how calories, macros, strength training, and exercise all fit together.

And next week, we’re getting into the pecking order of exercise—because not all exercise gives you the same bang for your buck.
