THQMA National and Brickyard Recap
11, (I said ELEVEN) straight days of all things racing, chasing, blood, sweat, and water overload.
THQMA we arrived and waited 50 hours before a tire ever hit the track. The rain Gods were not on the racetracks side. Track Crew tried everything they could to keep it as dry as they could, but it was so tough.
Heavy WF
P1 in the D Main was spun out and never could make it back to the front with some muffler damage and bent rods. Raced her heart out but car wasnโt the same. Transferred as the X car in the C Main, but didnโt make it out.
Heavy 160
P7 in the D Main. Everything that could go wrong, did ๐คช ๐
We shook that off and went back to the drawing board to change cars over to pavement. 24 hours later we headed straight to the IMS for a week of battle at the Brickyard!
Heats were stacked and had to remind the driver to forget those dirt lines. Keep emโ low and tight!

P6 in the D Main (advanced to the X car in the C Main). This was race was a great one but went without the results the driver was hoping for. Q was so disappointed but did everything she could (loaded with top drivers). A little pep talk from everyone and she was back to her awesome self! She executed her lines, made great passes, car was dialed in. She did not make it out for the C Main as the transfer car. Thanks Eastyn Turner Racing for letting Q borrow your wheel in a clutch!
Heavy 160
P3 in the D Main did not transfer. I (mom) will digress on that entire race. Driver did the best she could but many circumstances were against her. ๐ฅ ๐ฅ
For new Heavy classes and 4th time on pavement, we couldnโt be more proud as a team or of the driver. She raced against the best of the best in the country and held her own. Progress was shown every time she got out there. While she was in the lower mains she was not in the lowest to start. Major progress and effort made from last year! Sheโs still learning and so are her handlers. While this sport is stressful on all avenues, it truly is fun. Made memories with friends on and off the track. Q got to take her lap around the famous IMS track. From Race Family Dinners,BC39, Karaoke in the pits, to running through the sprinklers. These are the moments we take with us forever. Til next time Brickyard ๐งฑ . Back to dirt til further notice.
