A Soft Gaze, a Steady Mind
In a balancing pose, we often choose one place to rest our eyes. In yoga, this is called drishti.
But watch what happens when you try too hard to balance. Your jaw tightens. Your shoulders lift. You hold your breath. Suddenly, standing on one foot feels like a battle.
Try softening your face and breathing again. Let your eyes settle on one spot. If you wobble, you can return to it.
We can practice the same thing off the mat. When life asks for our attention, we can give it our focus without tightening around everything we cannot control.
Where could you use a softer gaze and a little more breathing room today?
