When I met my mother-in-law Seena 15 years ago, she was just getting used to being hard of hearing. It infuriated her (which I completely understood). Now she reads lips like a pro, asks me to face her when I talk, and her hearing aids are connected to Bluetooth. She hears you clearly on the phone.

She’s had health scares. Every time, she rallies. Not without complaints or fear, but with a fierce devotion to the idea of “just one more day.”
And honestly? That might be one of life’s greatest lessons.

When we arrived on Friday, she was a little low. By the end of dinner, she was energized again.

There is still growth ahead.
We never stop doing it.
