Final look at the wire back panel project we wrapped up in SE Wisconsin.

This install added back-of-rack protection across 14 bays, with three wire panels per bay and 15 ft of coverage behind the storage area.

When racking sits next to active manufacturing space, the back side matters. This helps keep product where it belongs and adds an important layer of protection for the people and work happening nearby.

Simple safety upgrade, finished and doing its job.

Same footprint. Nearly double the storage.

In this install update, Kyle Fritz breaks down how one customer’s longer skids were getting stuck in a horseshoe-style layout, leaving valuable floor space and inventory underused.

By reworking the layout into a back-to-back setup, the team created a more flexible system for products of different lengths, nearly doubling their storage capacity. 📦

Sometimes more storage does not require more space, just a smarter way to use it.

Not quite pallet rack… not quite shelving. Exactly what this storage area needed.

This project gave an electrical contractor a stronger, more organized setup for transformers and other industrial materials.

The system uses bulk storage racking with wire decking, creating wide, accessible storage levels for heavier product that needs more than standard shelving.

It's a good reminder that the right solution depends on the application.

This project helped a Packerland customer create more organized storage across two very different areas of their facility.

This is a real world example of the rack selection guide we shared yesterday. For the freezer side, structural rack was the better fit because the environment, product movement, and long-term durability all mattered.

The wrong rack choice can follow your warehouse around for years.

Roll-formed and structural rack can both be the right answer. It depends on what the system needs to handle: pallet weight, forklift traffic, impact risk, environment, aisle flow, and long-term use.

📦 What are you storing?
🚛 How does it move?
⚠️ What kind of abuse will the rack see?

The cheapest rack is not always the lowest-cost rack.

In progress in SE Wisconsin: The crew is installing wire back panels across these 14 bays of racking.

Each bay gets three panels, creating 15 ft of coverage to help protect the manufacturing area from falling product. More from Haden on this one as it wraps up.

Simple safety upgrade, important place to have it!

Just add more rack, they said… It’ll be fine, they said.

Adding storage is great, until the aisles get tight, forklift traffic gets messy, staging areas disappear, and people still need to move safely through the space.

A better warehouse plan looks at the full picture: storage, traffic, product flow, safety, and how the team actually works every day.

Warehouse folks, what gets overlooked the most when teams try to add more storage?
