What ends up in the door pocket of your aircraft?

Headset bits, pens, checklists, sunglasses... everyone seems to have their own essentials they like to keep within reach. This pocket in our Beaver has plenty of room for those little things you always want close by.

So, what’s the one thing that always ends up in yours?

How much of an aircraft do you think can actually come apart during a full restoration?

This photo gives you a pretty good idea. With so much of the aircraft removed, you get a completely different perspective on how these machines are put together and just how much work sits behind the finished aircraft everyone sees.

What part of an aircraft restoration would you most like to see us show more of?

Here’s a view of a Cessna 172 you don’t normally get to see.

With the instruments and avionics removed, you really get an idea of just how much goes on behind the panel. Plenty of wiring, planning and careful work before everything starts coming back together.

If this was your Cessna 172, what would be going into the empty spaces?

Nothing better than seeing a Skywagon back in the air after the work is complete.

This one came to us for a full glass panel upgrade and the finished result looks right at home in the cockpit. We’ve included a few shots of the work at the end of the video so you can get a closer look.

What a difference a bit of paint makes.

These shots give a great look at the work that goes into the areas you’ll rarely see once an aircraft is back together. From the prep and masking to seeing everything cleaned up and painted, it’s all part of getting the details right.

Which do you prefer, the classic green or the finished black?

Another challenge from our lovely Beaver!

Take a close look at this one. Do you know what it is and what it’s used for on the aircraft?

Put your guesses in the comments and let’s see who knows their Beaver!

Check out the work we completed on this early model Skylane!

It’s always great seeing a panel come together and giving an aircraft like this a fresh update while keeping everything clean and practical for the pilot.

If this was your Skylane, what would you have added or changed?

It’s the little details that make this Beaver cockpit so good.

From the finished panels to the switches and levers, there’s plenty to look at when you get up close. After everything that went into bringing this aircraft back to life, it’s great to show off some of the smaller details inside too.

What’s your favourite part of the Beaver cockpit?

The new Garmin AXIS looking right at home in the cockpit. For Skywagon owners already flying with G3X, AXIS offers a great upgrade path to Garmin’s latest generation of flight displays while making use of much of the existing installation.

What do you think of AXIS in the Skywagon?
