When it was all over BBQ we ended up 8th place overall, and got a 2nd place pork call with a 180. Congrats Janky Leg on GC.

I made it to Kennett Jaycees Show Me State BBQ cookoff. Happy to be cooking this weekend. Let’s see if we can grab a call against this field of outstanding BBQ cooks.

Our team, Black Sheep BBQ-STL, has returned from Smoke In The Spring, where we received several favorable calls. We achieved a 2nd place Turkey Smoke call with "Rylan's Recipe and Box" and a 2nd place chicken call, both courtesy of Rylan. Although we began the contest on fire , our standings in ribs, pork, and brisket eventually declined our overall standing. I would like to thank Kyle and Jay from Korte for their help last week and Jason for providing the CCO chicken foot rub.
If we participate in future contests, we will revert to competing as BYO-Grill STL having considered a name change and it didnt feel the same.
We had fun, and watching the kids eyes light up when they called out name was the best part of my weekend. Congrats to everyone that heard there names called.
