✨I remember the first time someone told me that my past doesn't define me unless I allow it to. It was so powerful, and honestly, it was one of the defining moments in my life.
Have you ever made a decision not to go after something you wanted – a relationship, a second chance at love, putting yourself back out there – because of something that happened in your past that you still haven't made peace with? Maybe it was a bad marriage, a divorce that left you questioning your judgment or maybe someone who made you feel like you weren't enough and you quietly decided to just stop trying.
It sucks. It hurts. And it's so easy to let that story run the show without even realizing it.
I've been there. I let old relationships convince me I couldn't trust my own judgment. I let one bad chapter tell me how the whole book was going to go. And for a while, I let that negative self-talk control my choices and my beliefs, even what I thought I was allowed to want. 📖
But here's what I had to remember: the past is only one chapter of your life. It isn’t the whole story. And the best part is that YOU get to decide whether you keep rereading that same chapter or turn the page and write something new.
You have the power to put one foot in front of the other and walk away from whatever's been weighing you down. Not by pretending it didn't happen, but by refusing to stay chained to it.
🩷It's time to learn from the past without letting it ruin your future. By living fully in the present, you get to transform your reality and build the relationship and the life you really want.
