"Stagnation is the death of evolution. For me, it's necessary to keep moving and trying to keep looking around the corner and seeing what's out there."

—Nick Russell on his approach to continuing to pursue new objectives in the backcountry.

In his latest interview with TGR, Nick discusses his philosophy to moving in the mountains and preserving his love for the sport of snowboarding—safely:

"I'm looking for the safest, but also the raddest, thing I can do. I'm not trying to take unnecessary risks or gamble my life for a line that has a serac above the whole thing."
