What an excellent day of fishing in Boxwood Gulch and Long Meadow.

The fishing was lights out with some big fish to the net and a variety of trout species.

Chef curated lunches are always the highlight of the day

We have 2 more trips on the property this year:

Thursday, 9/17 Long Meadow only
Saturday, 10/24 Both Properties

When the streams are as low S they are and the temps are keeping us off the water, it’s a great time to give the trout a rest and chase warm water species.

Carp are arguably one of the hardest fighting fish in Colorado, that is if you can get one to bite.

Stop by the shop to get flies and tips on how to chase down these golden ghosts. The best part is, you can usually catch them right around where you live!

Eldorado Canyon has been fishing great in the morning despite the heat. This is a great place to get in to escape the warm water temps and catch some beautiful wild fish on dry flies.

Micro Chubbies and Elk Hair Caddis were the key players in a great day!

Make sure to practice fast and efficient releases on the fish. Try to keep them in the drink.

Stop by the shop for tips and flies on an amazing hike and fishing day close to Boulder!

South Boulder Creek River Report
7/31/26

SBC is flowing around 70 CFS out of Gross Reservoir and has the coldest water within 50 miles of Boulder!

The hatches were plentiful and the fish were hungry.

Drakes, Sallies, and PMDs were on the menu. BWOs in the morning as well.

Get in there early to beat the heat. Practice quick releases.

Try a double dry fly rig on small tippet, and cover ground throughout the stream.

Stop by the shop to get flies and up-to-date info on SBC!
