Still feeling so incredibly loved after the sweetest sprinkle for our baby Leighton 🎀🤍

Our friends and family made the day so special, and I’m beyond grateful for all the love and support surrounding this little girl, this journey, and our growing family. 🥹

We were surrounded by the people closest to us, and my heart is just so full. Leighton is already SO loved, and we truly couldn’t ask for a better village. 🤍🎀

So grateful for everyone who celebrated our sweet girl with us. We love you all! 🫶🏼

Pregnancy is HARD. I don’t think anyone is arguing that. 😂

And before we go any further — obviously every pregnancy is different. If you’ve been told by your doctor to limit activity, you’re on bed rest, or you’re dealing with complications, this isn’t directed at you. Always listen to your body AND your doctor. 🤍

But for everyone who can move their body…

Being pregnant doesn’t mean you have to stop moving.

I’m tired.
I’m uncomfortable.
I waddle. 😂
Some days I feel strong and other days I feel like simply putting my sneakers on should count as the workout.

There are PLENTY of days I don’t feel like going to the gym.

There are days I look in the mirror and don’t feel confident in this changing body.

There are days the weights feel heavier than they did a few weeks ago.

And there are definitely days when my workout looks NOTHING like what it did before pregnancy.

But I keep showing up — not because I’m trying to prove anything, but because moving my body makes me feel better.

I’m doing it for my physical health.
My mental health.
My strength.
My labor.
My recovery.
And the version of me who will be taking care of a newborn while also being a mom.

And “showing up” doesn’t always mean crushing a workout.

Sometimes it’s lifting weights.

Sometimes it’s slowing everything WAY down.

Sometimes it’s a walk.

Sometimes it’s stretching, breathing and calling it a day.

It all counts.

Pregnancy has taught me that staying active isn’t about doing what I used to be able to do.

It’s about meeting my body where it is TODAY.

I’m not chasing PRs.
I’m not trying to maintain my pre-pregnancy body.
And I’m definitely not trying to win an award for being the fittest pregnant woman. 😂

I just know that every time I move my body, I walk away feeling better than I did before.

So yes, pregnancy is uncomfortable.

Yes, I’m tired.

Yes, everything is getting harder.

But as long as my body allows me to, I’m going to keep showing up for her. 🤰🏼💪🏼

Because right now I’m not training for how my body looks.

I’m training for everything my body is about to do. 🤍

This summer felt a little different. 🥹🤍

Knowing these were some of our last months as a family of three before our baby girl arrives made me want to soak up every single second with Maverick.

The random weekday adventures. The slow mornings. The beach days. The “Mom, come play with me” moments. The days where we had absolutely nowhere we had to be. ☀️

And looking back, I’m just so grateful that I actually got to live it instead of feeling like I was watching summer fly by while wishing I had more time.

I’ve had so much one-on-one time with my boy before he becomes a big brother, and I don’t think I’ll ever fully be able to explain how much that means to me. 🥹

This is a huge part of WHY I’ve worked so hard to build something that gives me the ability to work around my life instead of constantly having to build my life around work.

Do I still work? Absolutely. 😂 But being able to work from my phone, in the little pockets of my day, and still be PRESENT for moments like these is something I’ll never take for granted.

Because money is great… but time? Time is the thing I want more of. Especially with them. 🤍

And this summer reminded me exactly why I started. 🥹

If you’ve ever wondered what I actually do that gives me this kind of flexibility… maybe it’s time we talked. 🤍

Maternity leave in America is absolute s**t. There. I said it. 🙃

You spend 9+ months growing an entire HUMAN, give birth, recover physically and mentally, adjust to a completely new version of yourself and your family… and somehow you’re also supposed to figure out how the hell you’re going to afford to actually stay home with your baby.

Take a significant pay cut.
Use whatever PTO you’ve managed to save.
Go unpaid.
Or go back to work before you’re ready.

Those are basically the options for so many moms.

And when you work for yourself in any capacity? There isn’t necessarily a magical 12-week paid maternity leave waiting for you either. If you’re not working, you’re usually not making money.

I’m not going to sit here and pretend that my MAKE Wellness business is currently replacing my entire income or completely funding 12 weeks of maternity leave — because it’s not.

BUT… it has given me something I am incredibly grateful for.

Throughout this pregnancy, it’s given me additional income that I’ve been able to SAVE. It’s given me a way to prepare a little more financially for those weeks at home. And most importantly, it’s given me something I can continue to build and lean into so that eventually I get more say in what my life looks like.

Hiiii 👋🏼 I’m Courtney 🤍

I figured it was time for a little re-introduction around here — whether you’ve been following me forever, just got here, or somehow ended up on my page 😂

I’m a mama to one crazy, amazing little boy, Maverick 💙 and VERY soon I’ll be a mama to a little girl… Leighton 🎀🥹

And yes… that’s the first time I’m officially dropping her name on here 🤭 We’ve kept it kinda a secret, but there she is — our little Leighton girl. 🤍

I’m married to my amazing hubby, Eric, who somehow gets to be my partner in basically everything 😂 We work our MAKE Wellness business together, and when I’m not doing that, I’m also his sous chef 👩🏼‍🍳 for his meal prep business, Finegan Fuel. (Heavy emphasis on sous chef because I know my place 😂)

I’m also a personal trainer and have a huge passion for health, fitness, and helping people feel GOOD in their bodies. 💪🏼

Buttttt I am also a BIG foodie with an even bigger sweet tooth. 🍪🍕🍝 Life is way too short not to enjoy the good stuff.

I’m all about balance — taking care of my body, moving it, fueling it well, prioritizing wellness… while also fully enjoying life, good food, family time, and making memories.

A few other very important things you should know about me:

🎄 Christmas is my absolute FAVORITE time of year
🎃 Halloween is a very close second
🏡 I LOVE decorating my house for every holiday
✨ Traditions are everything to me
🐾 We have a black lab named Kobe who drives me CRAZAYYYYY but I love his crazy ass 😂
🍰 And again… sweet tooth. Always.

At the end of the day, I’m just a mom, wife, trainer, business owner, holiday-obsessed foodie trying to build a life I love with my little family. 🤍

So hiiii 👋🏼 if you’re new here, tell me something about YOU! And if you’ve been here awhile… thanks for sticking around for the chaos 😂🤍
