To say that it’s an honor to tell the story of those who experienced the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing is a vast understatement. We hold the victims, survivors, loved ones, our city, the entire marathon community, and their stories with great solidarity. To witness the ongoing remembrance and memorialization of their sacrifice in during our tour was a profound moment of living history none of us will ever forget.

As we approached the second Boston Marathon bombing Survivor’s Memorial on Boylston Street during this week’s Wednesday morning tour, we found ourselves in the midst of the annual remembrance ceremony. We watched as a bagpiper escorted Governor Maura Healey, Mayor Michelle Wu, family members of victims, and first responders to the installed memorial and paused for a moment of silence. We paused with them and caught this video and images ad they turned to walk back towards the Finish Line.

To Boston and our international running community, we are all in this together and with you as we collectively continue to climb this sacred road to hope.

Bobbi Gibb unveiled her Hopinkton start line statue on March 27th. We were honored to be part of recognizing her impact and legacy as the first woman to run an organized marathon when she broke into the Boston Marathon as a bandit 60 years ago this week.

It is a great honor for us to share her story out on the marathon route everyday. You can learn all about Bobbi’s groundbreaking run with us on our Boston Strong and Run ‘Boston’ tours.
