This week our teacher feature is Emily Jerant-Hendrickson.

Emily has a wealth of knowledge but remains in a constant state of inquiry when it comes to the body. A class very much worth giving a try!

"He who is content with whatever comes, without attachment, not disappointed when he gets
nothing, is wise.”

Contentment here isn't passive. It's not "fine, whatever.” It's a radical refusal to let results define you. Not resignation β€” freedom. Some days that looks like a breakthrough. Some days it looks like falling out of half moon and laughing anyway.

"Set thy heart upon thy work, but never on its reward.”

The point isn’t to stop caring; it’s to care about the right thing. The action is yours. The outcome
never was. Show up, do the work, let the rest go. On the mat and everywhere else.

Happy Pride from Boston Yoga Union! Pride is a celebration of the full, beautiful spectrum of our community. As a q***r-owned studio with a team and community that spans every range of sexual and gender identity, Pride isn’t a campaign for us. It’s personal. It’s not just June, it’s every single day.

I learned early to hide my true self. From the world, from the people I loved and worst of all from myself. The journey out of that β€” finding the courage to stop hiding, to tell the truth, to risk real things just to live authentically β€” is one of the most profound things I have ever done. Every q***r person has taken that risk and surfaced from the shame and hiding. That deserves celebration.

Yoga gets it. That’s exactly what the practice asks of you too. Get to the heart of yourself.

Because underneath all of it β€” the labels, the stories, the armor β€” we are the same. That’s the UNION in Boston Yoga Union. We are so proud to be a space where every identity, every chapter of every coming-out story, is welcome. Be gloriously yourself. Especially in June. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ no #πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

3. Bhagavad Gita 6.6
β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”
"For one who has conquered his mind, a mind is best of friends, but for one who has failed to do
so, a mind is the greatest enemy.”

Your mind will catastrophize, compare, and narrate your failures in real time β€” sometimes
mid-warrior two. It will also, if you do the work, become your greatest ally. Same mind. Different relationship. That's the practice.

2. Bhagavad Gita 2.50
β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”
"Yoga is skill in action.”

Two thousand years before anyone rolled out a mat, the Gita defined yoga as this: doing what
you do with full attention and zero ego. That's it. That's the whole thing. Every class is just
practice for the rest of your life.
