Bay Circuit Trail and Greenway

Good views, great company, and post-hike ice cream, it doesn’t get much better than that! 🍦🥾✨

Yesterday’s 20s & 30s group AMC Boston 20’s & 30’s spent the day out on the Bay Circuit Trail at Dow Brook Conservation Area in Ipswich Open Space exploring vernal pools and beautiful wooded wetlands before wrapping up at White Farms Ice Cream! 🌿🍨 (So sad a foot injury kept me home, but so glad it was such a great outing!)

Huge thank you to every single person who showed up, and massive gratitude to Chao and JT for jumping in at the last minute to lead the way. You two rock! 🙌🎉

Trail morning well spent! 🌲🔨 Last week, volunteers gathered at Hammond Reservation in Andover to give some love to a key stretch of the Bay Circuit Trail! 💚

A massive thank you to everyone who came out and put in work, including awesome crews from the Mystic Link Trail and AVIS Andover . Special shoutout to Mr. Alan French, the grandfather of the Bay Circuit Trail, for coming out to support! Make sure to swipe to the end to see him taking a well-earned rest on Mary French’s bench. 💕

That bench sits right at the entrance to the Mary French Reservation, where a brand-new boardwalk has been under construction and will be wrapping up soon! 🪵✨

Trails like this don’t maintain themselves, and this community showed up in a big way. See you out on the trail! 👋

Thursday was a blast! 🌲✨ Had so much fun at the “Get to Know Your Community” event as part of Newburyport’s 2026 YankeeHomecoming

Newburyport, MA holds a special place in our hearts since it’s the northern terminus of the Bay Circuit Trail! 🗺️ It was the absolute best time getting to chat with you all, share about the trail, and talk about our upcoming guided hiking & biking events.

Did you know the BCT is one of the long-distance trails stewarded by the Appalachian Mountain Club ? 💚 Love getting to help folks learn how to get involved and explore.

No experience needed. Tools, training, and safety gear are provided. Just bring water, sturdy footwear, and a willingness to help!

On Tuesday, August 11, we’ll be riding the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail in Chelmsford for an easygoing 10-12 mile out-and-back ride. Whether you’re a regular cyclist or just looking for a fun way to explore part of the Bay Circuit Trail, we’d love to have you along.

Join AMC Boston 20s&30s AMC Boston 20’s & 30’s for an evening hike on the beautiful Bay Circuit Trail through Boxford State Forest, followed by a well-earned stop at Richardson’s Ice Cream. We’ll explore 4–5 miles of scenic trails, enjoy summer evening views, and connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts before ending the night with one of New England’s favorite traditions: ice cream🍦
