Thirteen-plus years later, and we’re still here.

Still showing up.
Still coaching.
Still mentoring.
Still pouring into the next generation when nobody is watching.

We’ve never done this for the applause, the recognition, or the headlines. We do it because every young person deserves someone who believes in them, challenges them, and refuses to let them settle for less than their potential.

Over the years, we’ve seen kids grow into leaders, student-athletes, college students, coaches, and productive members of the community. That’s the real reward.

The work isn’t always easy. The hours are long. The resources aren’t always there. But the mission remains the same: give back, create opportunities, and help change lives one young person at a time.

13+ years later, we’re still standing, still serving, and still proving that when you invest in youth, you invest in the future.

The kids are watching. The community is watching. And we’re not done yet.

For the last 10 years, Limitless Athletics has been giving back to our community ,not just talking about change, but showing up and doing the work.

We have provided free programs, mentorship, athletic training, tutoring, reading support, clinics, community events, and youth services because we believe our kids deserve opportunity, structure, guidance, and people who care.

But the truth is, free does not mean it does not cost.

Because of the lack of funding, we are asking our community to help us offset the cost of our summer programs. This summer, we have:

📚 Reading Program — July 11th
🏈 Football Clinic — July 25th
🎒 Book Bag Drive — Middle of August

Programs like this matter. Research shows that structured afterschool and summer programs help kids stay safe, build confidence, improve school motivation, develop social skills, and stay connected to positive adults. Nationally, demand is high: Afterschool Alliance reports that millions of children are still waiting for access to programs, and summer programs can be a major support for families and youth development. (Afterschool Alliance)

When kids are not connected to positive programs, the streets, social media, and negative influences are always recruiting. We are trying to make sure our kids have something better recruiting them first.

We are asking for donations to help cover food, supplies, books, equipment, book bags, and program costs.

Anything helps.

Your support helps us keep these programs free for the families who need them most.

We have been standing in the gap for 10 years. Now we are asking the community to stand with us.

Donate. Share. Support the mission.
Fear is your only limit.

Last night at mentorship, we watched an old 1954 video called “The Secret of Selling to a Negro.” And I’m telling you, this video opened up a real conversation with our young men.

The video was basically showing businesses how to market to Black people. Back then, they were telling companies, “Don’t ignore this community, because Black people spend money too.” The crazy part is, decades later, we are still having the same conversation except now the numbers are even bigger.

Black consumers’ economic power is projected to grow from about $910 billion in 2019 to $1.7 trillion by 2030, yet Black communities are still often underserved. (McKinsey & Company) At the same time, the median Black household income was around $54,000 in 2023, according to Pew Research. (Pew Research Center) Another 2026 report put Black household income around $56,020 in 2024, while also noting that Black households hold only about 15 cents in wealth for every $1 held by White households. (NCRC)

So the lesson is simple: we have spending power, but spending power is not the same as ownership, wealth, or control.

3 lessons we pulled from the video:

1. Recognition matters.
The video showed that companies knew Black people had money to spend, but they still needed to be reminded to respect us as customers. That tells our kids something important: never beg to be seen, but understand your value.

2. Consumption without ownership keeps us behind.
We spend billions and trillions collectively, but how much of that comes back to our neighborhoods? How much do we own? How many businesses, properties, schools, programs, and opportunities are we building with that money?

3. Education is economic defense.
If our kids don’t understand marketing, money, business, ownership, and consumer behavior, they become the target instead of the decision-makers. That’s why mentorship matters. We are not just watching videos — we are teaching our kids how to think.

At Limitless Athletics, these are the conversations we are having. Sports are great, but our kids need more than drills. They need financial literacy, history, discipline, critical thinking, and real-life conversations that prepare them for the world.

Because if they can learn how the system sells to them, they can learn how to build, own, and lead within it.

Shoutout to my guy Boston Streetunion Donnie for stopping by our mentorship group. I always have to say how proud I am of him. He came through and spoke life into our young men, reminding them that every choice matters. He kept it real with them: your past does not define you, but your decisions today will shape your future. And one thing I always preach, your name is your name. Protect it. Build it. Stand on it. Donnie’s story, his growth, and his willingness to pour back into these kids is exactly what mentorship is about. Real people. Real lessons. Real impact. Salute to you, brother.
