REMINDER Barclay Bay will be closed in its entirety Tuesday and Wednesday to allow for completion of crackfill, sealcoat, and striping.

The ramp is already closed for launching due to low water, but it certainly remains a popular option for paddleboards, wind and kite surfing, and other activities not ramp-dependent. Please keep clear of the area while this needed maintenance is occurring.

Turner Gulch at the dam is full - launching is using buddy system only to launch boat and bring to Barclay where the trailer driver can step on.

Spring Shores Marina is full. One in one out.

Turner Gulch is full as of 1030 HRS Sunday.

Barclay ramps are closed.

Use a buddy system to launch at Turner, park at Barclay, and pick up driver at Barclay - and reverse to retrieve. Or consider IDPR Spring Shores Marina - which is also expected to fill today.

Tonight, Saturday, the remaining Barclay Bay ramp will go out completely - being closed due to low water.

Turner will fill very quickly with trailers now. If using the buddy system to launch the boat and park the trailer (recommended), Barclay Bay and road shoulders will offer ample space to park remotely. Some launch at Turner and pick up their vehicle driver at Barclay, and reverse the process for retrieve. Regardless, expect delays as everyone funnels through the two active launch lanes at Turner.

8 miles down the road, IDPR Spring Shores east and west ramps remain open and available.

Turner Gulch is filling up fast and Barclay is at one lane with very limited dock handling space. Best to use the buddy system to launch and retrieve - one to operate the boat while the other parks the trailer and is picked up after.

Expect extended launch and retrieve times at the dam today.

Expect remote parking opportunities where a launch might occur in one area and the vehicle driver pick-up/drop-off occurs at another.

Both Spring Shores Marina west and east ramps are in service today.

BOAT-IN SITE STATUS: ALL Lucky Peak boat-in site dock strings are now dry. Beaching is required.

EMERGING HAZARDS: As lake levels continue to recede, be observant of buoys marking the biggest of emerging hazards, such as the Gooseneck Bay shoal halfway between the dam and the marina. Images taken this afternoon show it barely visible. Pencil buoys and/or orange balls mark these day-spoilers. Another marked location will soon emerge offshore of Macks Campground boat ramp.

RAMP STATUS:
- Barclay short ramp is out and long ramp has a little life left (couple days tops).
- Turner Gulch is open and will remain so into winter.
- IDPR Spring Shores is open, east and west - west will remain in service into winter.
- Macks Campground (ramp for reserved campers only) is out.
- Robie Ramp is out.

CONGESTION: Lucky Peak facilities exceeded design capacity many decades ago. Receding water closing ramps concentrates use at even fewer sites. We recommend you come out early, or come out late, but come out in the midday heat and you’re gonna have a wait. It is normal in situations like this to encounter extended waiting times at the ramps (45+ minutes). Last weekend was perhaps the second busiest of the summer, with ramp closures layered on. This weekend promises more of the same.

Robie Ramp is now closed for boat launch and retrieve due to receding lake elevations. The parking lot is no longer reserved for vehicles with trailers Friday through Sunday.

The Barclay Bay short ramp is closed due to receding lake elevation (usually the retrieve side of the four lane launch area). The long ramp of Barclay Bay remains open to one lane with the shoreside lane very sandy. Expect longer launch and retrieve times on busy days using Barclay.

Parking lot work near the dam continues tomorrow, with crackfill occurring at Turner Gulch, Middle Cove, and Barclay Bay. Next week, fresh sealcoat and striping begins. While these areas need more help in total than this work will address, crackfilling and sealcoats are very important measures to prolong the useful life of asphalt at these heavily used recreation areas.

IDPR Spring Shores Marina remains conveniently open and available for use throughout this impact schedule.
