WAVES was proud to again support the Aaron Butler Memorial Purple Heart Run in Boise, Idaho .. a powerful event honoring the legacy of SSG Aaron Butler and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Through WAVES (Western Adaptive Veteran Education Snowsport), we help veterans find connection, confidence, healing, and camaraderie through skiing, snowboarding, and adaptive snowsports opportunities, and we’re happy to support causes like this that serve a similar purpose in honoring our veterans.

Aaron Butler Memorial Purple Heart Run – August 15
We’ll be volunteering again at the Aaron Butler Memorial Purple Heart Run, one of our favorite community events each year. The Aaron Butler Foundation honors the life and legacy of Idaho Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Aaron Butler while supporting Veterans, military families, and Gold Star families through community programs and events. We’re grateful to be a small part of this meaningful day.

🌊 Wild River Dash – August 22
Come say hello if you’re at the Wild River Dash at Esther Simplot Park! We’ll be there sharing information about WAVES, connecting with the community, and cheering on participants during this fun event supporting adaptive recreation and healthy lifestyles

🧺 Volunteer Picnic
We’re looking forward to seeing our volunteers at our end-of-month picnic as we kick off another exciting WAVES season! Be sure to check your email for all the details, and please RSVP so we can plan accordingly

🎶 Yellow Pine Music Festival
If you attended the Yellow Pine Music Festival this weekend, you might have heard about WAVES! We donated a pair of Gorge Amphitheatre tickets for their live auction—congratulations to the lucky winner!

The Gorge has been part of a fun summer for the WAVES family, with several volunteers recently enjoying concerts there, and one of our earlier fundraisers sending a winner to experience an unforgettable VIP concert weekend at this incredible venue.

We’re excited for another month of connecting with our community and building momentum for the upcoming adaptive snowsports season. See you out there!
