End of summer, and this team is on fire. πŸ”₯ To everyone who shared the mats with us this month β€” the early mornings, the hard rounds, the small wins β€” thank you. We're reaping exactly what we've sown in each other, and fall's going to be even better.

Tayden earned a promotion on a Friday night, surrounded by his coaches. πŸ₯‹ Belt color is just the marker β€” the real story is the hard work that finally showed through. Proud of you, Tayden!

Put a black belt and a white belt on the same mat and something surprising happens: they both get better. πŸ₯‹ In our noon no-gi class the range of experience is huge, and that's the point. The white belt gets problems they couldn't invent on their own. The black belt gets forced to explain, adapt, and answer questions their own game had stopped asking. Iron sharpens iron in both directions β€” the teacher learns as much as the student, if they stay honest about it. That's why no one here ever really "arrives." Every training partner, at every level, is a new puzzle. When's the last time someone less experienced than you taught you something you didn't expect?

Competition season is a month out, and you can feel the room shift. πŸ₯‹ But watch a no-gi evening class with Jake and Kyle and you won't see grinding or white-knuckle intensity. You'll see play. We prep for competition by getting curious, not tense β€” treating every hard round as a problem to solve instead of a threat to survive. The students who compete best are the ones who kept it fun long enough to stay sharp. That's the quiet win before any medal: learning to meet pressure with a grin. Excited for what this crew's about to show.

That's a wrap on summer camp β€” and what a summer it was. 🌞 Now we trade sunscreen for fresh notebooks and point all that camp energy at a big fall for our kids team.

Coach David and his son Chase, training side by side in the same class. 🀍 The families who train together aren't just building American Jiu-Jitsu skills β€” they're building shared standards, inside jokes, and memories that outlast any belt.

While a lot of kids are still asleep, these ones are already on the mat putting in work. πŸŒ… Here's what we teach in our 10 AM kids American Jiu-Jitsu class, and it has almost nothing to do with technique: it's easy to take the easy road. It takes a real work ethic to invest while everyone else is resting. That's a muscle, and it's trainable. Every time a kid chooses the hard rep over the comfortable one, they're wiring a habit that'll serve them in school, in sports, and in every hard thing they'll ever face. We're not just raising sharp grapplers. We're raising kids who know how to do the work when no one's making them. Parents β€” where have you noticed your kid choosing the harder road lately?

6AM. Most of the city is still asleep. This room isn't. There's a specific kind of person who trades the snooze button for the mat before work β€” and when a room full of them shows up, the energy carries everyone through. Mornings like this are why the Academy feels the way it does. β˜€οΈ

No speeches. No caveats. Just work. 🀍

The women on these mats aren't a category β€” they're training partners, and they'll make you better.

Defense and offense in one motion: check the kick, then answer it before the foot lands back down. The cross to the body is the reply that makes people think twice about kicking again. That's the Muay Thai we drill at the Academy β€” nothing wasted, every block already loaded with a response. πŸ₯Š
