I’ve seen a few weekend reviews and figured it’s my turn. I’m sure most of you after Saturday night are tired of what I have to say, while others will actually now know what I’m saying and are not just hear static.
This is always a stressful race for me, Bob has given me a huge opportunity to officiate this race, my first priority is to carry out that duty in a manner that would make Bob and my late friend Olga proud. The two of them have been great friends and great supporters of my own racing. The integrity of racing means more to me than my involvement in it. I’m gonna be climbing back behind the wheel of a car this weekend and I will be way less stressed about screwing up my race than I stress over getting the Dream 100 right for all of you. Most years after the Dream I don’t even wanna think about it for months, this year is different . I had to make gutwrenching calls, I missed some calls, at the halfway break and after the finish, I was expecting some angry confrontations. None of that happened, there were a few that weren’t happy with calls made or missed. There was nothing but respectful conversation of calls and I have huge admiration for that. But as I sat back with one of Donovan Parkers beers (he wasn’t happy with a call missed) and watched most everyone with a smile on their face after a weekend of racing and hanging with family and friends that became racetrack family I was reminded of what makes this sport so enjoyable. The people. Sure the racecars are still awesome, and I still love trying figure how to get through the center better without killing my exit, but at the end of the day it’s really about everyone at the track. I’m excited and working on ideas for improvement . Transponders definitely had some issues, qualifying took way too long, line up needs to come out quicker under caution. I need to calm down on the radio, (passion turns into anger quickly). I’m confident we will make improvement in all those areas and make next years race even better.
I just wanna thank everyone involved, our staff, Kenny Shepherd and the Madera staff, all the drivers and their crews. It takes everyone to make this event what it is.
Thanks to you all, Mike

Photos from Olga's California Dream 100's post 08/17/2026

Hello Drivers. I had the pleasure of being able to take photos for the Olga California Dream 100 Event. I tried my best to capture each car. I loved these photos if the cars with the "Welcome to Madera Speedway" in frame. As I stepped off the field because I was overheated, I think I saw I missed a car or two. If that is the case, I apologize for missing this photo. I desperately needed to cool off. Thank you all for allowing me to capture these moments and memories.

10am Monday morning after the Olga's California Dream 100 ... I should be back at work, but had to take a sick/personal day. My body couldn't recover from what I asked of it this weekend on a 12 hour car ride home. The boss isn't happy, but he is proud to employ someone who isn't afraid of hard work and who is so passionate about doing a good job that they will keep pushing till there is nothing left in the tank. I'm fortunate as hell to be employed somewhere that shares the same values as grass roots racers, and everything this part of the sport is built on!
So here is a shout out to all the drivers, crews, and families who joined us in all the long nights getting ready. Who budgeted and sacrificed family vacations to come to this show. Here is a shout out to the guys that make dreams come true on the RV pad next to the house, in the other side of the garage, or under a nice shady tree in the back yard. Here is a cheer for the guys who worked overtime to build a shed out back that you proudly call the race shop.
Because this is who we are. Owner operator race teams that's are built, not bought. We are average people who learn physics from experience and trial and error instead of universities. We change tires in minutes instead of seconds without sports scholarships. And a big win means the crew stops at Denny's for dinner to celebrate as a family instead of a bonus check that Uncle Sam will get half of anyway.
And here is a shout out to my staff as well. The guys who do all of this out of their pockets just like the teams, everything described above, and who don't get that Victory dinner at Denny's.
Coply, Ryan Bailey , Wurtz, Mike Davis , Nelson Bentley , Brittanie Marie Bentley , Marleis Dahle Bolinger, and Brooke Harris
