What happens when you launch your boat with no fishing partner and start asking complete strangers if they want to go offshore fishing?
That's exactly what happened on this adventure!
After launching at the Pompano Beach boat ramp, I headed over to the jetty rocks near the inlet looking for someone willing to jump aboard and go fishing. A few people turned me down, but then I met Willie, a visitor from the Dominican Republic currently living in South Carolina and vacationing in Florida while his wife was away on a cruise.
Willie had never been deep sea fishing before, but he didn't hesitate to say YES!
We spent the next three hours offshore chasing fish, sharing stories, and enjoying an incredible day on the water. The highlight? Willie landed his very first Blackfin Tuna! As if that wasn't enough, we also crossed paths with the legendary Mark the Shark, making an already unforgettable trip even better.
This is what Florida Fishing Friends is all about—meeting new people, making memories, and sharing the fishing lifestyle one adventure at a time.
