Hey Wheelz Fam...bringing you opportunities to skate in different ways tomorrow....art, fun and community too!!

We can't believe it either, but TOMORROW (Saturday, September 19) is the LAST Skate Park Saturdays 2026 of the season!

Spend some time with friends at Fairview Skate Park in Normal with partners including the McLean County Museum of History, West Bloomington Revitalization Project, and ISU Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from 10:00am-1:00pm

Whether sunshine or sprinkles, we'll be making the most of a September Saturday at the skate park 🛹🛼

Thanks again to everyone who has made Skate Park Saturdays possible, including University Galleries of Illinois State University, Kxng Moosa, and Wheelz Entertainment Center who showed up and out earlier this month!

Are you an innovator?

REMINDER:
INNOVATOR-IN-RESIDENCE APPLICATIONS DUE SEPT 30
The Innovator-in-Residence program at Bloomington Public Library welcomes applications from creative individuals from many different backgrounds, such as painters, photographers, illustrators, digital sculptors, sewists, embroiderers, graphic designers, and any other type of artist/hobbyist who has a talent they would like to share.

Four individuals will be chosen to serve as the library’s Innovators in Residence during 2027. Each chosen innovator will serve an 8-week residency with the four residencies loosely lining up with the four seasons ̶ spring, summer, fall, and winter. The chosen innovators will share their skills and creative processes with small groups of teens and adults in the library’s Innovation Lab, inspiring our community to explore new forms of art and expression.

RESIDENCY EXPECTATIONS
Public Workshops/Classes (4 Sessions):
- Innovator-in-Residence will offer a total of four (4) hands-on public classes or workshops in the Innovation Lab at Bloomington Public Library.
--- Each class will be 2 hours in length, with an additional 30 minutes at the end for questions.
--- Classes should relate to the innovator’s specific discipline and be designed to engage a diverse public audience.
- Programs should maintain standards set forth in the Library's Mission Statement: Bloomington Public Library provides its diverse community with a helpful and welcoming place that offers equitable access to the world of ideas and information and supports lifelong learning.
