Hello Divers!

We just came back from two group trips the past week. Mark Tant had bunch of wreck divers enjoying great conditions with our friends at Panama City Diving. At the same time, Spencer Phillips took several black water artifact divers on our South Carolina fossil dives.
That makes over 30 group trips so far this year. We have some good weather coming up along the upper Gulf Coast. Next week, everything that we like to harvest on our Spearfishing trips comes in season together. Southern Skin Divers Supply is very well stocked right now with gear from Ocean Rhino Inc. Several of our divers are currently competing in the Florida Fish and Wildlife Lionfish Challenge. This is a 4 month long tournament that will be winding down over the next two weeks. We are all trying to finish this tournament very strong. We also have a trip to Pensacola during the Lionfish Invitational 3 day tournament the end of Sept.

Many of you have been diving with us all over the world for decades. We are very thankful that you have invested in Scuba equipment from us. We service all the regulators, buoyancy compensators and dive computers that we sell. Realistically, even with proper service, computers should be replaced every 10 years and regulators about every 20 years. From now until Sept 8 we are having a big sale on all Aqualung Regulators, Buoyancy Compensators and Computers. Hello Divers!

Since the last update, Mark Tant returned from Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands from another excellent trip. Also, Forrest and Spencer Phillips took turns on a couple of multiple day Spearfishing adventures with our friends at Emerald Ocean Dive Charters, LLC out of Pensacola. We wrapped up the week certifying our newest group of Openwater divers over the weekend.

We are still selling a few of our upcoming New Year’s Cozumel spots every week. Come join us for a week of drift diving down Palancar Reef. Hello Divers!

We have already had three trips since Tropical Storm Bertha came through a couple of weeks ago. The visibility is getting a little better every day. Bo had a group out of Orange Beach diving offshore wrecks Avocet and Lulu. Many of the divers had a good time harvesting invasive Lionfish from these wrecks. Right after that, Forrest took another group of Spearfishers on some natural reefs near Pensacola. These divers took some excellent Lobsters and other tablefare on this mid week trip. Currently, Mark has almost 30 of our divers wrapping up a Summer dive vacation on Cayman Brac.

Hello Divers!

Over the past two weeks, we have taken two trips, both to Panama City. First, Mark Tant had two days on some of the Offshore Wrecks with our friends at Panama City Diving. Visibility and conditions are very good and everyone got to see some wrecks we haven’t been to in a while. The next week Forrest Phillips took a bunch of Spearfishers on a charter with Panama City Dive Center. The staff worked very hard and took excellent care of us. We were able to bring home some nice Red and Mangrove Snappers, Red and Scamp Groupers and Lionfish too. Meanwhile, Spencer Phillips and the rest of the our Gold Dredgers are starting to wind down their trip in Alaska. Over the next couple of weeks, these adventurers will be returning from the Gold Camp. Several of them will have been gone for about two months once they return.

We are continuing to get increased interest in our group international travel. Even though St Lucia, Cayman Brac, Thailand, Truk Lagoon and Fiji are sold out, we do routinely have cancellations. Please let us know if you would like to be added to the cancellation call list. Once you sign up for international travel, please consider trip cancellation insurance from DiveAssure - Scuba Diving Insurance. Currently there are spaces available for our upcoming November trip to Bonaire and our January Cozumel one too.

Currently we have two trips at the same time. Mark Tant will be taking a group with our friends at Panama City Diving. These divers will be seeing some of the deeper offshore wrecks out of PC. Meanwhile, Bo Holloway will be with a bunch of our advanced Spearfishers. They will be going for big Red Snappers along the Alabama Gulf Coast.

After those we have Forrest Phillips taking many Spearfishers for Snappers and Lionfish and Spencer Phillips and all the Gold Dredgers currently on another adventure near Nome, Alaska.

We have been so busy teaching and diving it has been a while since we have updated you.

The Northern Gulf Coast has been very clear lately and we have had nine trips there in the past three weeks. Most of these have been Wreck trips or Forrest Phillips taking the Gulf Coast Spearfishing ones for Snappers and Invasive Lionfish.

Mark Tant just certified a group of new divers and we are also currently planning and booking trips for newer divers to very experienced ones most days. We just booked another Cozumel trip today and recently four spots opened up for Bonaire in November. Here are dates of upcoming trips and training as well as a few recent photos:

The weather along the Gulf Coast is incredible now so we will all be gone for a little bit. Tomorrow, May 14 we will be here from 9am-1pm and then we will be closed the rest of the day and Friday too. We will be back at 9am on Saturday Morning. Dive Safe Everyone!

Hello Divers!

Here are a few photos of what we have been doing the past couple of days. First, Mark Tant completed certification for a few new divers over the weekend. The weather ended up being nicer than we anticipated, providing a nicer experience for their first dives.

Meanwhile, Spencer Phillips has another group in South Carolina. These artifact divers are finding great fossils, especially huge Megalodon teeth! It is not that common to find a complete 6 inch tooth and several have been recovered over the past day or two.

This Saturday, Forrest Phillips is teaching our last Nitrox class for quite a while. We have a tremendous amount of upcoming spearfishing that will keep him down South. If you need to get your Nitrox certification before Summer, please try to attend this Saturday at 9:30am.

Our dive travel this past week was another artifact and fossil trip to South Carolina. Instructor Spencer Phillips takes his new and experienced Solo Divers to some of his favorite sites on one of our vessels. The weather was good and many excellent relics and other historical items were recovered.

Currently we have both sizes of the Apeks Luna lights that we use on this trip. The custom headmounts are also in stock. This light and mount combo is essential for finding these artifacts in low visibility environments.

We are having another promotion on all Garmin dive computers and smart watches starting today! Every MK3i, Descent X30 and X50i are all $200 off and the Descent G2 is $100 off. In addition to Garmin, we have plenty of Suunto Ocean, Aqualung and Oceanic dive computers too.

Most of our upcoming International Dive travel is sold out but we are keeping a waiting list in case of cancellations. Please let us know if you want to be added to anything. Also, we are close to booking another group trip Jan 2-9/2027. The airfare is looking good then and it will probably be either Belize or Cozumel. Once we announce it, please secure your spot quickly.

This past week we wrapped up another two trips. Spencer Phillips took another group of Solo Divers on a three day artifact trip to South Carolina. Many great fossils were recovered over the long weekend. Meanwhile, Forrest Phillips brought a bunch of Spearfishers to Panama City Dive Center for two days of diving off the Capt Scuba II. There are plenty of good Sheepshead and Triggerfish inshore now. The visibility is good and water temperature is approximately 66 degrees.

Much of our upcoming travel to destinations like Cayman Brac, St Lucia, Bonaire, Thailand, Truk Lagoon and Fiji are sold out. We do have waiting lists for these trips in the case of a cancellation.
