What an amazing night remembering Troy. The Wild Game Dinner and Silent Auction was a huge success.
The “Troy Ellis Memorial Scholarship” has given $40,000-$60,000 annually in sponsorships and scholarships ensuring no child will be left out of participating in a sport or outdoor experience due to finances.
You would have never seen Troy without some sort of ball in his hand or outside.Whether that be with a fishing pole in his hand, waiting for a big buck or turkey to pop out or simply in his backyard with a homemade swing or fort hanging with his friends.
Just a few photos from an amazing event!

Please talk to your communities, middle schoolers, high schoolers etc…
The reality is rarely addressed even by coaches. Most HS players report not even enjoying the game any longer. Adults are outraged at the College level shananigans not even realizing it has already creeped into your own life within your child’s sport.

Amazing what a difference a year can make. Started watching Moody”s Jake Lowery in the 5th grade. The grit this kid has shown to keep doing what he loves stands out and the proof is in these 2025 QB stats below and this Thursday he will lead his team into the 5A State Championship. My favorite part of “Friday Night Lights” is the 20-30 min before kickoff. The sun is setting. The fall air is getting crisper by the week The memory of last weeks games rather that’s the sting of a loss or elation of a win has dwindled. Families pile in getting their popcorn ready to watch their favorite player or team. The work has been put in and there is an excitement of what’s to come.
It’s also minutes before the refs become a “friend or foe”. One side cheering with acceptance while the other side yells loudly at how “stupid” the refs are!
Coaches are praising and patting helmets or cussing and throwing their mics depending on how the game is going. Players are in sync celebrating the perfectly executed play or yelling at each other at how “someone” else can step up more.
The “game” can bring out the “best” or worse” in anyone involved. We forget that at the end of the day how young the participants are. How much time they put in all season long. The “win at all cost” no matter what sport is relevant at any one given time, is impacting our children in ways most can’t imagine.
So tonight, take a few moments to enjoy the environment that soon will change as the whistle blows.

Tough loss for our Huskies! It never feels the best coming off the field without the win but our guys should be extremely proud of the way they played!
