This weekend, 5 teams representing Birmingham and New South Softball depart for the 2026 Gay Softball World Series in Columbus, OH. This year marks the largest world series in history with over 260 teams representing their member cities from all over the country!
Safe travels and good luck to the Birmingham Bandits Softball , Birmingham Sliders , Looney Squad - , and Bama Express! Let's show GSWS Columbus some southern charm!!!!

As the City's oldest q***r organization boasting the longest running LGBTQIA+ softball tournament in the nation, we are looking to further expand our playing field with YOU (and several of your friends)!
Come out to our 2026 Fall Season Recruitment Day on September 20 at George Ward Park! All skill and experience levels are accommodated with multiple divisions of play from beginner/recreational to more experienced and advanced skills teams.
So oil up your glove, change those cleat laces, and get in a little preseason BP and let's make this YOUR homerun season!

"Love is love, and people are who they are." 👑🌈
Today, the world lost a true icon, an unmatched talent, and a beacon of pure kindness with the passing of Dolly Parton.
While her extraordinary voice, timeless songwriting, and boundless philanthropy shaped generations, her heart was always big enough to embrace everyone. Dolly was a fierce, unwavering champion of the LGBTQ+ community long before it was comfortable or popular to be one. She led with love, acceptance, and an open door, famously telling the world: "I accept everybody for who they are... God made us who we are, and who are we to judge?"
From her iconic anthem "Family" to welcoming LGBTQ+ fans to Dollywood and speaking up for love and equality at every turn, she showed us what true allyship looks like.
Thank you for the music, the warmth, and for making sure every single one of us felt seen, loved, and welcomed. Rest in peace, Dolly. 🕊️✨❤️
