Established in 2006, the 76® Birmingham Bowl is a post-season collegiate football event, which annually has a positive impact on the City of Birmingham. The bowl game produces a significant economic impact, promotes tourism, enhances the quality of life, supports youth initiatives and honors our military and veterans.

Every tradition has to start somewhere!
Back on December 23, 2006, the Birmingham Bowl officially kicked off its very first game at Legion Field, featuring a hard-fought battle between USF and East Carolina. Little did everyone know that crisp winter afternoon would lay the foundation for two decades of unforgettable postseason excitement in the Magic City. 🔥

The JLab Birmingham Bowl team is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our friend and colleague Joe Dean, Jr.
Joe, a longtime Birmingham-Southern College athletics director and SEC basketball broadcaster also served as the Chairman of Community Relations for the Birmingham Bowl for several years. He was big supporter of Birmingham and an invaluable part of our 20-year history. We miss you, Joe!

Double the game, double the memories! 🗓️
Back in 2015, a unique shift in the college football schedule meant we hosted two Birmingham Bowl matchups in the span of just 365 days—the January showdown (Florida vs. ECU) and the December thriller (Auburn vs. Memphis). Two incredible game-day atmospheres in one year? We'll take it!
